  9. might not be bad as a baby lullaby CD but any adult person doing yoga to this should probably consider suicide

    My Darling

twangy might be the wrong word, I was referring mostly to that descending line between verses. It's nice but I just like the more melancholic vibe with Jay's

    My Darling

yeah see that version is too twangy, I dig the more minimal interpretation and i guess since Jay composed it, I'm feeling the authenticity of his own version

    My Darling

well it's not a very "wilco" song right? it seems more of a solo singer/songwriter type track, and maybe too ballady for Wilco in general. But I really think Jay nails it. Lyrics and melody are heartbreaking

    My Darling

This might have been covered at length so forgive me, but I was watching the YHF doc again the other night and the only thing that's stuck in my head is Jay doing My Darling. It's such a pretty song and IMO Jeff's vocal on Sunmerteeth just doesnt do I justice like Jay's. Does Wilco ever play this live? I'm guessing no, and so is there some kind of weight to the song that makes it inappropriate now? Curious about this...
  22. Having lived in Montreal while Arcade Fire was coming up, and seeing them play very early on, I can tell you it's not contrived at all. Their popularity stemmed from the raw energy they put out by banging on anything and everything. Also if you check their earlier albums you'll hear all those random instruments fairly prominently.
  23. Actually forget it, I just checked and it's not there... my bad!
  24. I believe there's a good quality and free download available of one of the Chicago shrinking tour shows (the one with Nick Lowe and Mavis) with Magazine Called Sunset. The link should be somewhere on this site
  25. also, Andrew Bird was great on Jesus etc but how cool would it have been if he actually learned the original violin parts from YHF, haven't heard a true album version in forever!
