Wilco - 22 June, 2025, London (Royal Albert Hall)

But which version? The CD came with two different mixes (I had to go back and check I got that right). Would anybody else be surprised to learn that Deep Sea Diver have supported Wilco before on some of their Ode to Joy tour? Just stumbled across that at the bottom of this old concert review; https://thefirenote.com/reviews/wilco-ode-to-joy-tour-concert-review/ -

My company has a box in the grand circle and that's where I was watching from. -

Does that arrangement with Deep Sea Diver maybe include having flawless sound? I have seen quite a few acts at the RAH and I guess the support generally gets set up pretty well. But I was astonished by how great their sound was. They seem like a decent band, I expect they will do well at festivals. -

That does look interesting. Not out until the summer, that reader was in an exclusive preview club. Given all the things that Wilco have been I'm struggling to imagine a book that would read that way.

A configuration or server error has occurred

Thank you, that all looks good now. -
Hi, I'm logged into the site now and everything is working fine. But without logging in the site renders very strangely and browser tab name reads 'A configuration or server error has occurred'. I had this a few weeks back and did not get as far as logging in, just assumed site was down. Looking on Reddit, others have been having issues too. https://www.reddit.com/r/wilco/comments/1hh3tef/via_chicagoorg_down/

Huh, that's weird I'm rereading that at the moment. After I gave up on Thomas Mann (I think I might be done with books older than about 1945).

Very enjoyable book. I didn't know anyone still wrote books in that hysterical realism style, but glad to find they do. I don't think you need to be a gamer, I would say I have not really been one for about 25 years but I've still kept an interest in what is going on and picked up a controller occasionally. The detail of game development is part of what makes it such a richly detailed world. There were a few things in it where I thought if you didn't know games you would probably want to have a google to figure out what the characters were talking about!

Thinking I will make my first trip to the cinema since Covid to watch Tár (not out in the UK yet). That aside I've woken up my Netflix account from a 5 year slumber and so have quite the backlog of stuff I'm interested in!

You might both want to listen to this woozy cover of 'Long Forgotten Fairytale' from last year if you haven't already. I'm not sure how much I like it exactly but it is aurally interesting at least; https://youtu.be/OjtzyGT7Ea8

I think it got a fair hearing at the time. I'm having flashbacks now to how every Oasis album would be presented by the NME as a 'return to form!', it never was..... Just looked on Wikipedia though and that was the album that originally was going to be Death In Vegas produced.

Everynow and then I wonder if I was wrong about liking Oasis, a lot of things I liked 25 years ago I'm not that into now. But if you go back and watch footage from 94, 95 or 96 they were a great rock and roll band. I am in something of a minority by liking Be Here Now, but I don't think they made any good music after that. Noel Gallagher taking over production duties was the big mistake I reckon. If only that Death In Vegas produced record could have happened!

Wilco — 28 September 2019, London, UK (Eventim Apollo)
Roper.no.1 replied to bböp's topic in After The Show
Me too! My excitement about the support led to me getting London and Manchester tickets. First time I have bought tickets for 2 shows on a tour, for any band. Of course Ohmme coming on at 6.45 in Manchester could have screwed things up... Very appreciative to hear a rare live rendition of 'You, your face'. I think everyone else has said enough about Wilco! -

Singers who also act. (You knew it was coming sometime!)

Two lane Blacktop featured James Taylor and Dennis Wilson in the lead roles. James Taylor has done lots of other stuff too. -
I was there. I had a good view from my seat and I wasn't wasted. Pretty sure I would have noticed a teenage Tweedy on stage - and I didn't.
