  1. Today is the day the inductees for 2013 are going to be the announced. So far - I have read that Public Enemy and Donna Summer are on the list.
  2. Speaking of concert footage, I was watching the Copenhagen (1972) film the other day on Youtube.
  3. I guess Bruce, Laday GaGa, and The Black Keys are the next guests. I get the first one, the other two I don't. But - Mick has always stayed current.
  4. Just for the heck of it - Dick's Picks Volume 11 (Stanley Theater in Jersey City on September 27, 1972). They opened the show with Morning Dew.
  5. That's right. I think I learned the most about if from that Faces book. I can't recall if there is a lot of talk about it in Dave Marsh's Who book (Hope I Die Before I Get Old).
  6. It's pretty weird to watch Letterman and the band sitting around talking about blues musicians.
  7. I don't think I've ever seen such a thing as this before: $1,000
  8. I can't say I am very fond of the Ogden's narration parts. But - there are some great songs on that album. Song of A Baker, for example. One of Ronnie's Meher Baba inspired songs, I think.
  9. I've had that on my Amazon list for years. I wonder about that also. Ogden's Nut Flake Gone (3 cd boxset version) (Snapper Music Group) Ogden's Nut Flake Gone (3 cd boxset version) (Sanctuary UK)
  10. I have the Fuel 2000 release. The cd sounds like it was mastered off a cassette being playing across the room. I think there was a 3 disc version put out this year. Maybe it is the one to get.
  11. It's funky sounding. He recorded the basic track by himself in the back yard of his house. Well, by himself with his dogs. The only Small Faces albums (cds) I have are Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake and a "best of". Both of them don't sound that great. One of these days I hope to get them all - once I find releases that do not sound crappy. My favorite Small Faces song is The Autumn Stone.
  12. And Robert singing while sitting in a wheelchair.
  13. And if you believe the stories - he did a lot of those guitar overdubs in a short amount of time.
  14. I just saw this on Expecting Rain (from Isis):
  15. The only LZ album that one could find in the cut-out bins. It has such a cold sterile sound - which is one of the reason people did not go for it as much as the other albums.
  16. The song is called The Universal.
  17. You may be right: (I was listening to Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! yesterday. It's a shame what time does to a band.)
  18. Speaking of the demos, the first Scoop is one of my favorite Pete albums. I got the album when it came out in 1983. I remember playing it all the time. Plus, it has great liner notes. If you look at the Wikipedia page for the album, it lists Spike as Elvis Costello (as "Spike"). This is not correct.
  19. From what I have been reading, Keith's playing is better than it has been in years. It's also interesting to see Ronnie playing a Les Paul.
  20. Little Red Rooster with Brian on slide is a pretty cool thing to see/hear. Second night setlist (11/29/2012):
  21. This is surprising (by way of Billboard.com)
  22. There is some cool stuff on those Who's Missing compilations. When I Was A Boy is a John Entwistle song (you probably knew that.) I am rather fond of Let's See Action/Join Together/Relay. I received Hooligans for Christmas in 1981. I still have it.
  23. Here's the video: Neil Young on The Daily Show (by way of Thrasher's Wheat).
  24. I don't know if I have heard all of them all the way through or not. When I listen to the Stones it is usually Beggar's Banquet/Let It Bleed/Exile On Main Street.
  25. I'll have to see if he is mentioned in the According To. . .The Rolling Stones book. I don't recall seeing his name in there. The bass player auditions are a whole other story. Apparently, even Noel Redding showed up to play. I don't know much about the albums after Tattoo You, but I like that song Slipping Away (Steal Wheels). That Stripped album is alright. Undercover (1983) Dirty Work (1986) Steel Wheels (1989) Voodoo Lounge (1994) Bridges to Babylon (1997) A Bigger Bang (2005)
