  1. Rock Hall Inductees 2012: Guns N' Roses, Beastie Boys make grade
  2. I think there is a Genesis thread where some people talked about the re-masters.
  3. I rather like it when they have some sort of historical figure centered episode.
  4. That was a nice flash of the original Doctor in the Vincent and The Doctor episode. And some more in The Lodger. When I was a teenager, the Cybermen were my favorite Doctor Who bad dudes.
  5. I think that is probably due to the setlists not existing on Wilcobase - which is where all that information came from. You can find the information by way of the BT threads in the In A Future Age Section (August 2010). Or - by way of the shows at The Wilco Live Show Archive. Pronto 8/13/2010 Wilco 8/14/2010 Autumn Defense 8/15/2010 Jeff Tweedy 8/15/2010
  6. I wish the "hamburger video" was still up somewhere. I rather like that song - Soulshine. Warren must really like the song - as he seems to play it all the time. The only time I saw the band, Dickey and Woody were still in the band.
  7. I say disagree, in that to my ears they are playing with feeling. I don't see them as lacking creativity. Of course - they are not Duane and Dickey - but who is? I am sort of surprised they are still playing shows. I would think they may hang it up before too long.
  8. Greg's health issues have to due with Hep C, and the liver transplant he had. You can't have the Allman Brothers Band without Greg Allman. That's crazy. I also disagree with the comments about Derek and Warren. They are great guitar players.
  9. The hardest working man in the music business. I wonder if that guy ever takes a rest?
  10. I figured that is what the deal was. I recall reading somewhere they were going to start doing the play a whole album at each show thing. I rather enjoy the version that is on the 9/19/1971 archive release.
  11. I'm up to The Vampires of Venice episode. I think this new guy is pretty witty.
  12. It seems odd to me that they are even doing that song.
  13. I wonder if that is due to his solo tour? I mean to say - I wonder if he took on too much this past year.
  14. I think we had to take those sorts of things down. I can't recall exactly.
  15. I happened to look in one of the giant cd bins at Walmart yesterday. I figured it was only greatest hits, but I noticed they have cds such as all the Van Halen remasters for 5 bucks each.
  16. Here's another one: Jethro Tull - Aqualung (40th Anniversary - the $17.98 version) Jethro Tull - Aqualung (40th Anniversary - the $136 version) I have the 1996 edition - and it does sound really bad. I have read this new release is suppose to be good. (I believe I use to own this album on 8-Track back in the day.)
  17. I suppose something I have to remember is that the magazine changed a few years ago, or whenever it was. I was looking at some recent issues at the laundromat the other day. It seems to me they are a souped up Entertainment Weekly these days. I would think not too many people want to read long interviews or articles anymore. I figure they don't have much going on outside of celebrity news and short articles - except to do issues that have to do with some sort of list.
  18. I think he wrote most of the music in the Black Crowes, or rather, that is what I have read over the years. The one thing I didn't care for - was his singing ability. I guess that is something he worked on, as it seems to be better now. I don't know if the band is gone for good or what, but I have to say their last few albums are the only new releases I have bought in the last several years that did anything for me.
  19. I've looked at them, but I have not grabbed any. I am thinking about buying his new album. It's funny that Rich beat Chris on putting out a new solo album. There should also be a Trigger Hippy album sometime this coming year.
  20. The other day I went on a mission to try and stop all these sites from sending me emails every day. I guess I missed Wolfgang's Vault. Anyhow - The Black Crowes at The Newport Folk Festival, August 2nd, 2008 (video).
  21. I didn't look at the list, as I am not really interested in lists anymore. But I will say that people such as Joe Bonamassa, Joe Satriani, and Steve Vai all do things I could never do, but they don't move me. Look up Fleetwood Mac - Worried Dream (live) on Youtube - that's guitar playing with feeling. Of course, it all comes down to what you are into. Hendrix always ends up at the top of those lists, he did years ago, and he will the next time they do such an issue. That's cool. I can watch Rainbow Bridge clips all day long - particularity, the second take of Hey Baby from the film.
  22. I listened to that cd, and then Ladies and Gentlemen the other day.
