I'll take Quadrophenia over YHF any day. But, that's because I love The Who and Quadrophenia is one of my favorite albums. I have not bought the box though - can't afford it. I hope to get it someday. I suppose all the Wilco albums will get the De-Luxe treatment someday. That is one of the ways record companies keep the cd alive. I don't really see Jeff sitting around plotting how to re-release old albums though. At least not when they just released a brand new album.

At first I thought maybe it was a Firefox foul-up, but the spellcheck works in other places - just not here. Also - as some people mentioned in that other thread, the log-in does not seem to work sometimes. For me - it works at work, but not at home. I have to open the sign-in as a new tab in order to log-in.

I don't know if this is related, but today I noticied the Firefox spellcheck thing no longer works here.

I like what Chris does. And I agree - Rich's vocals have improved. Maybe they could get Trigger Hippy, and whatever band Sven Pipien is in, and do a tour all together. Ha ha ha.

It was on during the 1993-1994 season. I'd say Jay's take on the Woody songs is going to be pretty different than the Wilco/Bragg albums.

I know some of the popular songs - that's about it. He's just someone I never got into really. I did, however, use to watch the show The Byrds of Paradise.

Several bands do that these days. But - I don't really get people wanting such things, when there are hundreds of AUD tapes out there to be had. And occassionally, a SBD show appears. The same with all demo tracks that people always seem to want - they are out there already. Maybe it's due to the fact that I spend so much time with these things - that I don't get wanting live stuff that you have to buy. I don't mind buying some re-master of some old band I am into, but for Wilco to start putting out such things would seem weird.

That is true. I think there were reports from the last tour that just like Ozzy, some of his vocals were not exactly live.

I never thought he was much of a singer to begin with - a great front man, a great showman, but not so great of a singer. I am surprised he has not ended up with some sort of reality show. He would be a natural for that sort of thing.

The album is made up of old songs and ideas they worked on back in the day. (Look up She's The Woman - from 1976)

I would think that is David Lee Roth's idea. Last night, I was thinking about all the shit he wrote about Eddie and Alex in his book. I guess they must have had some long talks to work through all that hatred a few years ago.

At least they are still rocking - at least somewhat.

I think much like Ozzy, Dave may not be able to cut it live anymore. I guess the new album is made up of old songs from thier early days that they never put on any albums. Still - it's cool to see a real rock band out there. My first thought was - the music sounds like the Sammy Hagar era, and the words make me think of a David Lee Roth solo album.

Metal Evolution - Grunge Episode I guess those dudes aren't fans of hair metal. I'm not exactly a fan of so-called hair metal myself, but I wouldn't write all of those bands off. Ratt has some great songs, and Cinderella too. I read a book a while back about the Seattle scene. It seemed to focus more on the tragedies than the music, but I learned a few things. One of which, was that a lot of those bands seemed to hate metal. Every time I see PJ records albums mentioned, I recall that is the last new record I ever bought - Vitalogy. I got it for 5 bucks brand new.
