  1. I think T-Bone Burnett is doing the new Plant solo album also. I have a feeling that is why he is being called upon now, to try and get the artists he works with big sales like the Plant/Krause album. I recall reading a while back that Elton said he was not going to make albums anymore, as his last one only sold a couple hundred thousand. Of course, he will never match what he did in the 1970s. When people go to one of his shows, they want to hear the oldies, not some new songs that they do not know.
  2. I think in the book Eddie wrote, he dismisses Nine to The Universe. If I recall, what we hear on there is heavily edited, and the titles were made up by Alan Douglas. I think a few of those jams were released unedited on one of those Dagger Records releases. I don't have any of those albums though. I agree with that. Sort of like the wine they had for sale, and the idea of making his gravesite into an amusement park.
  3. I think it is partly due to the fact that so much Hendrix stuff has come out over the years. Some people dismiss that sort of thing, other people love it. Most of what we have got over the last few years are demos, rough takes, different mixes, and things of that nature. As you know, he really only released three albums. Smash Hits was a greatest hits, and Band of Gypsys was a live album he released to get out of a lawsuit. Of course, what is funny is, the show they are pointing out there was released as a cd (or some of it, anyhow). Live at Winterland
  4. Not direct download, but rather, Bit Torrent. Whenever Mr. Owl does an update, he notes it by posting in this thread. I should say this more often, but if you take the time to learn Bit Torrent, then you won't have to wait to grab shows.
  5. I sort of agree with what he is saying. It is interesting that Eddie Kramer said in the early 70s that they were scraping the barrel. OF course, more tapes have come along since then. I ordered the new cd, I am a Hendrix collector, so I have almost everything. I am not too happy about the after the fact overdubs though. I think they should leave the studio stuff alone, and concentrate on releasing the live stuff recorded on multitrack.

  8. Maybe he could stop the flash for a bit, and go back to playing some blues.
  9. Here is what I have: Helloween - Halloween Anthrax - Indians and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
  10. Maybe Eric will show up with Jeff Beck.
  11. I wonder who the special guests will be?
  12. I've mentioned this before, but I have a Anthrax picture disc and a Helloween picture disc.
  13. I've heard some of these songs: Amazon.com links: Exile On Main St. (1 Disc) Exile On Main St. (Deluxe 2 discs) Exile On Main St. (Super Deluxe 5 discs)
  14. I saw that yesterday. It seems a bit odd.
  15. You have to understand that when people are new, and start threads asking for stuff, other people are going to get them some shit about it. I have seen that on about every message board I am on. I would not take it personal, it is just one of those things. It's the same as if you went to your new neighbor's house and asked them if they had a robe and wizard hat you could borrow.
  16. You never know. A show from 2003 just appeared that I have never seen anywhere.
  17. Bon Jovi also. They do big numbers on their albums. You can't say that about too many bands from the 80s. I am not into either band, but I can see the appeal for those who are into them.
  18. I was trying to teach you how to get the songs you want. If you learn how to use Wilcobase and The Wilco Live Show Archive, you will not have to ask and wait for songs. You can just go get what you want.
  19. It looks like T-Bone Burnett is the man for the rockers from the old days: Elton John Recording Album With Leon Russell
  20. Iron Maiden Announce New Studio Album "The Final Frontier" and North American Tour (click on the link for more info)
  21. Wilcobase Song Search Click on the date of the show, scroll down to you see Audio Sources. The show is not listed as being up at The Wilco Live Show Archive, but it is there. You can also do a search in the Greatest Lost Track of All Time section of Via Chicago. If you do that, then you will find threads with links to torrents for a show that contains the song you are looking for. Also, remember what I told you the other day.

  23. I saw that written on a bathroom wall a long time ago. A Blog, Twitter account, and/or a Facebook page are great tools for such things.
