I posted that last night in order to let the fellow know the tickets were on sale. I have been to Japan. I forget what city though.

I pre-ordered Valleys Of Neptune the other day. I don't think I have ever done that before. I would much rather be able to walk in a record store and buy it the day it came out. NME News

The discussion here make me think of a thread on another message board I am on. That is, how some bands can change members, and carry on without any backlash, and other bands can do the same thing and be looked down upon for carrying on with the same name. It sounds like Marah is returning to their roots - is that true?

I disagree with that. I think when Mike Heidorn, DaveJim Boquis, and Eric Heywood were with Jay, it was a band. Not just some dudes he hired to play on a record and do a tour. They had feel - which I don't sense on the new Son Volt records. I don't know enough about Marah to know what their deal was, really. I have the first album - that is it.

So what is the scoop on the July 7, 1989 show? I have not looked in the Taper's book yet to see what the view of the show was.

Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da was worked on more than Maxwell's Silver Hammer. I don't know about the whole hate deal. If we are going by what we see in the Let It Be film, that is pretty much how it went everyday (from what I have seen and read) regardless of the song. I look at Abbey Road as a whole complete album. All the songs are fine to me.

The tickets for the shows in Japan are on sale now.

I guess he does not say exactly. 2009 interview (he references the 2005 interview)

Another great song: Ronnie has the flu there - that is why he sounds funny.

There also versions of it (audio and video) up at various Bit Torrent sites. I grabbed it a few years ago. Still, it be nice to see a professionally released version. In that interview that Relix did with him years ago, David Lemieux talked about releasing the film someday.

Interesting. I guess that is what has become of View From The Vault? I'd rather see an official release of Sunshine Daydream.

I'm not necessarily a fan of the whole each dude needs to have a spot to shine deal. I prefer jamming in general. That is, the whole band grooving and creating together. And then, in the midst of that, solos can evolve as they are born in the moment. Or something like that.

Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da It talks about how that came to be in the Beatles Complete Recording Sessions book. I have not read the book in a while, but I also seem to recall that the song was worked on and re-done quite a few times. I want to say that the rest of the band did not get into as much as Paul, but I could be wrong about that. To me, all Beatles songs are magic, some are just more magical than others. I think Paul had heard some ska/reggae music and tried to create a version of that for the band. I think he got the title from some musician he knew, who later went on to sue Paul over th

I suppose he is doing as Jay did with Son Volt; carrying on with the name regardless of who is in the band. I have not listened to the new songs yet, but I may check them out.

I wonder how she came to be in the band. When I looked up her name, there were various views about her name(s). They must have been sick of the pattern at the end of the original band.

It's stuck in with the Show Info (sort of buried): Wilco Show Info and Policies

I did not know this until recently, but Dave Bielanko is the only original guy left in the band. Serge left in 2008.

I will say one thing - it is nice to see them play whatever they want, without worrying about what songs belong in what set. I understand there is such a thing as flow, but if you want to open the show with Dark Star, then why not just do it. Sunshine (Garcia) Becker is Mountain Girl's daughter?

Those are all the rage these days.

I have not read that one, but I did read Stone Alone (as I mentioned above). I think it is great, but he does go on about all the women he screwed, and how bad Mick and Keith treated everyone else. So, it is a typical rock star book. But, since it is from his diaries, I believe it to be real. Or, at least his view of his time in the band. I'd like to read Andrew Loog Oldham's Stoned (1998) and 2Stoned (2001). Although, he is a Church of Scientology member, so the second book may be not worth reading. I don't know.

Aerosmith, With Steven Tyler, Booked For U.K.'s Download Fest I wonder how mad Joe got when he heard Steven was going to sue to stop them from getting another singer?

Also - he did give us The Unforgiven. I love so-called Spaghetti Western films. Maybe Paul could do a sequel to Light of Day instead. He could call it Dark of Night.
