This is pretty funny: Dave, Oprah & Jay Leno's Super Bowl Ad For The Late Show with David Letterman
-
Since we are naming bands - the NFL should get Phil up there to drop some bombs.
-
He is not the only one (of course): Gingrich McCain You could post stories like that all day - from both the left and right. It goes on everyday in the lives of regular folks. These guys screw up because they try to use their power and wealth to cover things up. In the days before instant access, this could be pulled off more successfully. Now, not so much. It could also be that the people in the inner circle know that there is money to be made by way of a book deal - so they are less likely to remain loyal these days.

Just Simon - They have been playing that way for a while now. I think it is so Pete can concentrate on solos, and jumping around. I've seen video from the last tour. Some nights were better than others, just like any other band I suppose. I say this as a giant Who fan - no matter who is in the group, I still get excited to see them. Wilco only has two members that have been there since the beginning, and they certainly don't make the music they use to make. I still think the only time people really accept old rock stars is when Paul McCartney is playing. Everyone else gets knocke

That's the show where Bob tells the taper that he should move back in order get a better recording. I really like that song Loser.

It's up early today. Taper's Section (February 8 - February 14, 2010)

It may be at some point. On one of those posts, some dude has a list of shows. I think it is an ongoing project. I have never heard any of them, so I may grab some to check them out.

The Who's Pete Townshend: The Super Bowl Q&A (2 Pages)

For those who are interested, there are some people posting New Earth Mud shows at bt.etree.org.
-
Is that when it began? I don't recall bands playing in the olden days.
-
I think someone mentioned ZZ Top (on another message board I am on). But didn't they already play a Super Bowl show? (I have not really watched a football game since the early 1980s, so without looking it up, I don't know.)
-
They (AC/DC) are active at the moment. Guns N'Roses could be a candidate also.
-
The only other new episode this month will be airing this week. I was wondering if Wallace would return. That was pretty funny.
-
Wikipedia link Speaking of mixing and matching, I was listening to this yesterday: I don't have many of the Dick's Picks releases. I just have the few that I was able to grab in the place I use to get cds back in the 1990s.
-
That is Pete's brother, Simon. I'd say Kiss or AC/DC should be up there next.

What we were hearing was the mix made for TV. So I think that is one of the reasons is sounded the way it did. There is speculation that the scream was not live. It would not surprise me. Still, I thought it was great.

John Lennon - Chuck Berry Connection
Analogman replied to Mr. Heartbreak's topic in Someone Else's Song
Here is the part I sort of recall: I think I almost remember seeing a TV commercial for the "Roots" album. -
Bob Dylan & Joan Baez reunite for White House performance
-
I believe he often disowns that album, along with the Country Girl suite on the first CSNY album.
-
Isn't he doing another one of those light country-rockabilly records with Alison Krauss?
-
Paul Rodgers is not in Queen anymore. He is back doing shows with Bad Company. I doubt Ozzy will ever play with Black Sabbath again, due to the lawsuit he filed last year. Although, you never know. The dude can't sing anymore anyhow. I can't see The Police ever playing together again. I say this after reading Stewart Copeland's book. I am amazed they made it through the reunion tour. I would think John Mellencamp will be up there at some point.
-
That's right. I have that - I got it by way of Archive.org before they stopped letting people snag the soundboards. Further.net They are doing some Ryan Adams songs I see: Peaceful Valley Nobody Girl Magnolia Mountain
-
Right - I should have mentioned that also. It goes to show you that Neil was not always a one take live in the studio sort of dude.
