  1. I got into R.E.M. sometime in the 1990s, and although I seldom listen to them now, I still think they were a great band. I also got into Radiohead over the past few years. Although, I think O.K. Computer (or half of it, really) is the albums I like the best. There was a time of course, when I would have never listened to either of those bands. There are probably some more, but that is what comes to mind at the moment.
  2. I always thought that was a weird mix. Pete was in his Soccer Hooligan/New Romantic/New Wave/dressing up like a teenager phase around that time (early 80s). Dave Marsh talks about that time in the Who book he wrote. I can't recall what the deal was exactly. I just remember a passage where Pete meets with Jerry and asks him to do the dates The Who were suppose to do. I think the 1989 tour was "The Who On Ice" as Pete calls it. They had a whole bunch of players on stage with them.
  3. They took over a tour that The Who were suppose to do. Pete played with them. I think there are clips of if out there. It was a Rockaplast show (if I recall correctly).
  4. They actually played some shows together in 1976. (Of course, the people who post in this thread know that.) Oddly enough, I have known about The Who since around 1977, but I did not get into the Grateful Dead until sometime in the 1990s.
  5. You may not want to mess with it - due to the fact that it takes some configuring to work with your disc drive. Or, at least it use to take some configuring. I don't know if it does now or not, as I have not bothered to grab a new version. It's no big deal. The show will appear somewhere at some point.
  6. Did anyone watch this last night? American Pickers Antique Archaeology I have been watching Youtube videos of these dudes since 2008 or so. It was nice to see that they got a show on the History Channel.
  7. Leno anticipates return to 11:30, lauds O'Brien
  8. I think I read somewhere that a former ShowCo employee may the one who is making them available.
  9. Do you use EAC to rip?
  10. What's really nice is some dude paid a couple hundred bucks for that show, and then shared it. I read something a while back about some bootlegger complaining about BT putting him out of business. Now that is funny.
  11. I have spent the day grabbing Zeppelin SBD shows. There is a new one out -
  12. It's up early today: Taper's Section (January 18, 2010 - January 24, 2010)
  13. Neil should get him to open up some shows the next time he tours.
  14. Another Jimmy Fallon Impression: "Pants On The Ground"
  15. Dave Allen was better than any of those dudes. There is some speculation that he is going to the Fox Network.
  16. Yes, and NBC is going to put on Dave Allen at Large at 10 pm every night.
  17. I just did a search on his name. It appears he was a member of Marc Ford's band.
  18. There is a bunch of people listed at db.etree.org as having the AUD source. I have never seen the show anywhere though.
  19. Marc's MySpace page His website appears to be gone. I think he doing some sort of Chicago/Delta style blues music now.
  20. Black Crowes time line I think it was right after the Jimmy Page/Black Crowes Tour that he left.
  21. From 1998-2000, and then since the reunion. I think there were some so-called touring bass players in there after he left.
  22. I don't think so. It would be a transcode. And I think most reputable BT sites would know better than to allow shows from there to be put up. This also has to do with the fact that Wolfgang's Vault now sells hundreds of shows. I am guessing they were given permission to stream the show by Wilco, but not sell the tracks in Mp3 or FLAC form. I just looked at Dime A Dozen's banned list. I did not see Wolfgang's vault mentioned on there. That surprises me.
