I recall reading about that a few months ago. I'd like to see them again someday. I read a while back that Dickey has announced he is no longer going to tour.

I recall playing some sort of rock trivia board game years ago. I don't recall the questions, but there must have been some GD questions on the cards. You can sure tell that Mickey is back on drums during that one segment of the most recent Taper's Section.

Thanks everyone for your help.

That's it - except for live versions and the version on the bonus disc of I Am Trying To Break Your Heart. And the version they put on their website for download in 2004.

Yes, I actually prefer them over all of those bands (except Pearl Jam.) At least, I rather like the albums Dirt, Sap, and Jar of Flies. As I have said before though, I am somewhat put off by the sound of those records. Wasn't Cornell's last album some sort of techno Top 40 deal?

I just walked through the snow, and picked up the rest of the Jesse Stone novels. The library does not seem to have all of them though. I hate it when that happens. Night Passage Trouble in Paradise Death In Paradise Stone Cold Sea Change High Profile Stranger In Paradise Night and Day

Your post makes me think of the film Hype! (1996).

I don't think it is something I would buy, but I have heard it. When I want to hear some sort of metal, much like everything else I listen to, I prefer the old stuff. Since this thread was made, I have been listening to some Soundgarden songs, and realized why I never really got into them. I don't really care for the band.
-
I suppose it also has to do with a mix geared towards radio airplay. I think the Stone Temple Pilots ripped all of those bands off pretty good. Soundgarden - Into The Void Not bad - but Matt can't touch Bill Ward.

The Landlord (1970) If nothing else, I love the look of the films made during this time period. They run a lot of movies from the 1970s.

How about somewhat overproduced 90s big rock sound? I feel the same way about their last few albums as I do Nothing's Shocking, Ten, Dirt, etc. I like all of those records, but the sound seems oddly sterile to me. All bands seem to get back to together these days, whether it is for money, or, for the glory.

They should do a tour with Alice in Chains and Mudhoney.

Although I am not really familiar with their early records, I always thought Soundgarden was more metal than grunge. You can definitely tell that Kim Thayil is a Tony Iommi devotee. I also think Soundgarden's records (the ones I have heard) are too slick sounding. But - that was the sound at the time.
-
My guess would be that only Nirvana and Pearl Jam will make it in there.

If anyone has a notion to get these discs, this a good place to get them: Led Zeppelin: Cabala 1963-1988 (8 CD Set) I had these before in crappy Mp3 quality, so I think I am going to grab them. The files are FLAC files. I generally don't like fooling with Rapidshare links, but there is some good stuff on these discs.

Soundgarden World I figured it would happen eventually. I guess Matt Cameron will be busy this year. From Rolling Stone.com:

We had some discussion about the vinyl re-masters in this thread. It's not really a good idea to post links where people can illegally obtain commercially available music.

I listened to the Jimmy Page interview yesterday. There is not a whole lot of talk, but you do get to hear those Led Zeppelin BBC shows. OF course, you can now buy them on CD. I have read elsewhere that he plans to do some new music this coming year.

Yes - I read about on that LZ message board.
