I was listening to DP Volume 4 yesterday and noticed there is another photo of Phil standing behind the drummers inside the booklet. I have often wondered why he stood back there. I don't recall seeing any other bass player do that (one that I can think of anyhow).

Maybe The Dalton Brothers will reunite for the tour.

The first two albums I think are great. I have not yet seen the second half of the documentary. I was all set to watch it Saturday night. But CNN ran some other show instead.

I recall reading that. Paul probably did not know this at the time - but that song is really about Bono's mother.

The Propaganda magazines I have are from the Achtung Baby/Zoo TV era.

Are there really that many fans of Van Dieman's Land? I wonder. Acrobat is a great song.

I was looking at it around the same time you were I think.

That's a heck of a weekend.

Does that surprise you they are doing one of those album tours?

Oasis: Supersonic (2016) is now on Amazon I just watched it. I think they have some great songs - but most of their stuff is really generic. I guess I would have a different view if I was a teenager in England in the mid 1990s. I always think Liam seems like someone you would probably want to punch in the face everyday.

I would say I may finally get to see the band. But I doubt that will happen.
-
The first Bad Company album is great though. I was never all that into them either. But I just like to hear Paul sing.
-
You are talking about George Drakoulias or Joe Magistro I take it. I like that sort of thing - think Marc Quinones in the The Allman Brothers. Of course, I love drums.
-
He seems to play about the same songs at every show - every tour. At least - from what I have seen.

One of the greatest singers of all time. Rich just put up a video with Eddie on the Magpie FB page.
-
I didn't see it. Can Paul still sing?

It is one of the greatest albums of all time. It's what took them to super stardom. I would say I never thought they would do something like that. But it seems most every old band is now doing that sort of tour. Maybe we will see a 6 hour director's cut of Rattle and Hum. I would buy that.

I think for me it is something I noticed in the Chicago documentary the other night on CNN - Robert said something about them becoming a "ballads band" and that is not what they were really all about. But that is what they became.

He can never be Sam Cooke.

Almost that time of the year. Top 10 albums of 2016

I'd say that is right. I've heard some live versions.
