  1. New Wave, indeed. ha ha ha I heard that Under A Blood Red Sky is going to come out on DVD. I recall wanting one of those coats. A good early U2 song.
  2. Oh, I didn't use the g word. I do believe people are born with an intense passion and talent for something.
  3. I said some of that in this thread - I think. Also - you can not teach talent, you are either born with it, or not. I think he was born with something special, as were others, John Lennon, Brian Wilson, etc. I know that is not the popular view these days, but after listening to these artists (among others) for almost 30 years, that is my belief.
  4. I've never heard a Cure cd, but the early U2, Springsteen, and early Tom Petty (minus the first two, which were re-mastered a few years ago) sound terrible. But - as you say, it is drag if you already own all of this stuff. At least they have not did an Elvis Costello/David Bowie and re-release their back catalog three or four times - so far anyhow. We've had this talk before, of course.
  5. I think it's interesting - and a lot of work.

  11. A good friend of mine use to follow them around - he was at a couple of those big festival shows they put on.
  12. Dude - Don't let shit run you off of here. It's nothing new - people have always bitched about people making noise, standing, sitting, talking, singing along, smoking, etc. Those same people have or will at some point do all of those same things.
  13. Speaking of early shows - someone has been putting shows they played at college parties up at bt.etree lately.

  15. Good point. Could have been later then - as you say. The good thing is, he is (so far) not another dead rock star story.
  16. When people are sticking needles in their arm, they usually do not want others to see it, and/or they are past the point of most unnecessary human contact. He looked in pretty good shape at the Jammys - good for him - now the real work begins.
  17. I see dudes and chicks riding bikes around here, mopeds even, - they must have some great insurance. I walk almost everywhere I go.
  18. I think if the fellow reads that, or anything about old Neil, he will see that he is not a normal dude.
