Analogman

Outside of Pete's solo albums I have never really collected any of the band's solo work. For some odd reason I was listening to Roger's first album by way of Youtube yesterday. I went to buy a cd of it and found it is out of print and people are asking ridiculous money for it. I find that odd when some of his other cds can be bought 4 bucks. And the original vinyl pressings are cheap also. I think I have at least one Entwistle album (Rigor Mortis Sets In). And I recall listening to Under A Raging Moon quite a bit back in the cassette days.

I'm listening to the re-masters now. I'd say they are miles ahead of what was available. Lost In The Flood is my test song. What a great song that is.

I know Roger Daltrey and Rod Stewart also have kids that were born decades apart. I figure there must be something else to the story.

I don't have kids. It must be really weird to have little kids and be in your 60s.

I'd say Chicago and Steve Miller do the same thing. I guess if you are into the band it does not matter.

I was watching some video of Cheap Trick shows/TV performances on Youtube over the weekend. I'd say they are like ZZ Top in a way. They both play pretty much the same songs at every show and the energy seems to have left the band. From I could see - they seem to be going through the motions.

I think Dave and Mick sort of hate each other. Or so I have read over the years.

Peter was the only one at the ceremony. Jeremy and Danny were inducted - but were not at the ceremony. There were some others in the band. But - I would argue that Bob Welch saved that band for a time. Without him, they would have not made it to the Buckingham-Nicks era. I think Mick says something like that in his book.

They left out Bob when they were inducted.

Ray and Dave played together last night - You Really Got Me December 18th, 2915 (London) Although I have not heard it for years and years - it sort of sounds like the version on One For The Road.

I'll check it. I don't watch Downton Abbey either. I think Doc Martin is great though. Some rather black humor at times. I'll probably buy the dvd again - which is what I did last time.

That version of Loser on there is great. I find that solo really moving. And the version of Bird Song also.

The sound is great though.

That's sort of probably like the induction of Bruce Springsteen without the E Street Band. Although I am sure Steve had a lot more people in the band over the years. A lot of people may not know Boz Scaggs use to be in the band.

I wouldn't want to see either of those bands in there - just because I hate that music. LOL

I can't relate to that. If you have never heard it - check out a Steve Miller song called Your Saving Grace.

Steve Miller is great - at least the early albums. I have original pressings of all of them. I have all the Deep Purple re-releases from back in the late 90s. They sound great and have really nice liner notes. I recently bought the 3-cd Japanese version of Made in Japan.

I am only 25 myself.

At least Deep Purple finally made it. I will be surprised if anyone other than Roger Glover and Ian Paice show up though.
