  1. I think I have most of those on VHS. I don't think I have any BB documentaries on dvd.
  2. Do you recall the made for TV Beach Boys movie from some years ago? I'm watching one of my favorite episodes of Due South - The Man Who Knew Too Little (1995).
  3. Those Lovin' Spoonful re-masters are nice. I believe Sundazed is coming out with mono editions sometime in the next few months.
  4. I recall reading that book when I was buying all those re-masters. Isn't that why they did those new songs on the boxset? To claim the name - so Clarke could not continue to use it. I think I borrowed the box from a friend of mine once - but I never owned it.
  5. Thanks, Man. I've been on here for going on 13 years - and have never been wrong before. I like that. But I really like that song Lady Friend. It's pretty heavy for a Byrds song. Here are the songs I really like:
  6. I recently bought the SACD (2003) version of Tommy and just now got around to checking out the booklet. When I opened the cd case - there was no booklet to be found. I don't think this has ever happened to me before. I am guessing it was probably the same notes from the first re-master. But - maybe not.
  7. I can see why he stopped it. It was sort of running out of steam. Sherlock: A First Look At The Sherlock Special
  8. I thought it was nice to see a line about Jay in both this and the Alpha boxset. I have not listened to Mermaid Ave. in years. It still sounds good. I still think When The Roses Bloom Again is one of the greatest Wilco songs. I recall first hearing it on a Oxford American Southern magazine cd.
  9. There are some hidden tracks on those re-masters. One of which - is David giving hell to Michael Clarke about the drums on the beginning of Draft Morning.
  10. I know a guy who grew up during the 60s - and declares that The Byrds end at Younger Than Yesterday. He says it was a different band after that - and I can see his point. I guess David was not happy that Roger kept the name. I say there is something there for everyone. A couple of my favorites are Younger Than Yesterday and Sweetheart of The Rodeo. Of course, I really like songs on all the albums. I have the re-masters - which are still some of the best sounding re-masters that I ever heard. We use to have a Byrds thread on here years ago - I think it has disappeared. As great and moving
  11. It does seem out of sorts for them to post something like that.
  12. It's a take on the title of a Byrds album called The Notorious Byrd Brothers (1968).
  13. Yes, I think that is true. I don't really know much about the band after the Tormato album. That was the end for me.
  14. I figure he is - although, I don't know. Maybe they all vote or something like that.
  15. A guy named Billy Sherwood was already lined up to do the tour. I think I read somewhere he was asked by Chris to do the tour - as he knew he could not make it.
  16. I have to disagree with his view of Any Major Dude - as I don't even really care for Steely Dan - but I love the Wilco cover of that song.
  17. I would think they are the same. I guess with the LP boxset you get a bigger booklet. I say that - as someone's head is cut off in one of the photos in the cd boxset booklet. And I have seen the photo where it was not cropped.
  18. Cds All sorts of essays - plus Jeff wrote notes for most all of the songs.
  19. Thank the tapers. I just post links - I don't tape.
  20. I recently decided to buy this boxset. I got it for 31 bucks by way of Amazon. I have not yet listened to it yet - but I read through all the essays and liner notes earlier today. There is some good stuff there to read. I have to say it was nice of John to speak kindly of the online community. I also picked up the Mermaid Avenue boxset. I suppose now all I need is the Wilco book I never got around to reading (Sunken Treasure).
  21. I had that cd - I think I gave it away. What's the other one? Grayfolded.
  22. I've never heard that album. Wasn't it redone when they re-released the GD Movie?
