  1. Do you live in an area with an evolving music scene? I sure do. Portland (ME) has a lot of really interesting and amazing acts coming out. http://www.myspace.com/jacobaugustine http://www.myspace.com/jakobbattick http://www.myspace.com/cambiata What do you guys have??
  2. Be sure to document it some how. best of luck!
  3. Hey everyone, just letting you know my bands first full length album entitled "What Lives" is now available for stream and purchase. Its really been in production for almost a year and its finally finished and ready for everyones ears. The first four songs are the lighter, poppier side of us... which isnt that existent anymore and the final 5 songs are long, noise driven songs (I think you Wilco fans will enjoy) But anyways, please take a listen and if you like what you hear, purchase a copy via our bandcamp (we can send physical copies as well) thanks! -Cam http://intheaudience
  4. I saw this show at his first night in Boston. I was blown away. Just like the 2 other times i've seen him. My only gripes with the show were the fact that it just wasnt loud enough. I was sort of strained to hear a lot of the music over the sound effects. also, his drummer. From drummer to drummer... he is wayyyyyyy too busy with his playing.
  5. i just saw them in Boston last night. They put on a really entertaining show. I really suggest anyone in New York, Chicago, DC or where ever else they're playing to catch them while you can!
  6. Theres never an "OK" EELS song for me. I either love the song or I hate the song. I'm a huge fan of his more recent stuff. Hombre Lobo and End Times are really great records Tomorrow Morning has just a luke warm feeling for me... It feels really cold and forced to me.
  7. Hey everyone! my band is wrapping up our first full length album. and to celebrate we're giving away the first song away for free! you can get it here http://puregrainaudio.com/audio/in-the-audience-american-names Even you if download it and dont listen, it would help us a LOT! thanks!!
  8. I'm going to see them (hopefully) in October. It seems like almost a religious experience. I agree. the new record is really solid.
  9. Any fans of these guys? They've come along at a really interesting time in my life. And I've pretty much make them a constant in my CD rotation. Their lyrics are so smart and cheeky at times.
  10. The SRV Strat is a great guitar.
  11. Bat Out of Hell. So bad. You can just tell it has so much "oomph"
  12. I think this happens with tons of artists. Dylan, Roger Waters, etc. Everyone progresses to sort of find out who they really are and all that. Jeffs done a fine job, i think.
  13. this sounds like so much fun. I wish it wasnt so far away and had to play a show the day of. It'd be fun to see all this stuff. I saw Brenda (one of the bands thats playing, they're from Portland) and they're a pretty good live band. Just not crazy about their music. they came out of no where and suddenly they're the best thing in the Portland, Maine right now. Its twisted shit. Have fun!
  14. I'm Cam. a 20 year old musician from Portland, Maine. I've been following Wilco for about 3ish years now. Jeff Tweedy has slowly made his way to be my top influence. I play drums mostly in bands, one is an indie pop band, we are releasing a record come the end of this month- early next month independently here in the states, and on Moor Works in Japan. Another group I'm in is based on blues and pop songwriting stuff, and more modern groups like Dinosaur Jr. and Smoking Popes. We're recording an EP in August and we'll release it independently when its done. I also write stuff on my own. my
  15. Bob Dylan, Raconteurs, October 2006- First time seeing Dylan. I've heard terrible things about contemporary Dylan shows, but he and the band were on fire that night. The recorded announcement said "Ladies and gentlemen... Columbia recording artist... Bob Dylan" they jumped into a slammin' version of "Cats in the Well." Raconteurs were killer as well Roger Waters, July 2007- One of the best shows i've ever seen. Everyone in the band was in top form. Visually, it was spectacular. And got to see one of my favorite albums performed live (twice) Springsteen, November 2007- Need i say more?
  16. Hey everyone! my band In the Audience is in the process of working on a record to be released in Japan on Moor Works. We're looking to duplicate the album and produce the hell out of it. How this site works: you get incentives with a certain amount of money you donate. the only catch is... if we dont hit our goal. we dont get any money So if anyone has it in their heart to help out some folks chasing their dreams... even if its a couple of dollars, you'd be helping us out a ton! Thanks a lot!
  17. my only gripe about the LR Baggs pickup is that its wayyyy too sensitive. It picks up everywhere. you tap the body. gets picked up. the neck. picked up. even if you tap the tuning gears, it makes a noise. It sounds great, though.
  18. http://camjones.bandcamp.com/ Heres my new EP! you can download it for free!!
  19. Can you relate yourself to a famous person? I'm sure if you can think, you can find tons of them. Since this is a Wilco forum, I'll start with how i can relate to Wilco. I am in a band that is signed to a record label in Japan (Moor Works) and one of our label mates (Califone) toured with Wilco! I know the guy who has mastered several Wilco albums. and i've met Nels, Glen, Pat, and John. But heres my favorite one. It goes in a circle. I know a kid, who was in that movie "Music and Lyrics", Hue Grant was in that movie, Hue Grant introduced Roger Waters and Eric Clapton at a Tsunami
