  1. I gotta say. I saw EELS and Roger Waters in Boston last fall and the crowds were less than excited.
  2. Thanks again for the tickets! I had a great time. I met Jeff earlier that afternoon. He's a really nice guy and age has really calmed him down and lightened him up. I loved the banter. I'm so happy he loves Portland (though he must say that everywhere... but Bob Ludwig DOES live here hahha) The sound was great. The crowd was pretty sedated... I wish there was more singing and less clapping along. I dont know why its so hard to clap along. My only other gripe was I wish people were more respectful to Snowblink! They were wonderful! The lady was passing out bells to people in the cro
  3. Nosh Kitchen Bar (as see on Man V. Food) is open after the show too! they have great burgers and bacon dusted fries!
  4. Yeah! I love it. I feel really strange playing anything else now. It sounds alright by itself but when its miked. ohhh man its huge.
  5. Knotgreen was nice enough to sell me his extra pair from the presale! Walk up and down congress st. (the street the State Theater is on) All the awesome restaurants, bars, and stuff are all there
  6. This is the gear for one of my groups. the bassist is playing a Pevey Mark VI Series head with the house cab. and he's playing a Jackson bass which is 1 of 1000 made. I'm not sure of the model but it sounds great. Real throw back looking. He's got an old Big Muff Pi pedal from the 80's. The first soviet pedal made out of submarine scraps the guitarist is playing a 1991 SRV signature strat. and playing a Music Man 65 Reverb. A new Big Muff Pi and a Blues Driver. I'm playing on a kit I've put together over a couple of years. All the drums arent that great but it sounds pretty cool. I've
  7. if you have no luck, check Craiglist the day of. People are ALWAYS unloading tickets then.
  8. Portland Maine is probably my favorite New England town. not that i'm biased or anything..... (live here).
  9. I would go to the Loft, point to every thing and say "whats this?" "whats that?" "can i touch it?" It looks like they have a bunch of cool stuff thats been collected over the years. I could stay in there for hours.
  10. I agree 100% I think they should accept artist applications... and have Wilco pick everything out. It'd be a lot of work because they would probably get a lot of submissions... but it would be a great opportunity for a lot of good bands who have trouble breaking out.
  11. I slept through the presale... I'm unfamiliar with this to an extent. Are ALL of the orchestra seats taken now? Thats lame.
  12. shite eyes. i cant stand connor oberst. sorry guys.
  13. Hopefully they'll actually practice for that... I'm also jealous that Dinosaur Jr. will be playing Bug....
  14. Its actually really not good for his voice.
  15. I think it would be cool if they played one of their albums in its entirety one night. and then played a regular set the next. Though that'd be pretty hard since the usual Wilco set usually consists of songs from ALL their albums

I interned with a guy who worked on a records with him. As a session player and stuff. So i suppose thats what he's doing. I've never really thought he was THAT good :\
  19. Not really done a huge marathon of shows... but I've seen and played shows myself to give myself some serious sound hang overs. April- Saw Wilco, had a show in a gymnasium the next night (the sound was terrible and just way too loud), judged a local band competition the 2 days after that (These kids were damn loud too) October/ September- EELS on a friday night, band practice the next day, played a show/ watched the show sunday, played ANOTHER show on tuesday, Thursday I saw Roger Waters The Wall, band practice AGAIN on Friday, Saturday played ANOTHER show, a local band showcase at our ne
  20. I was right in front of that kid!
  21. Yeah. but it doesnt really match up. And Mickey Jones says that Dylan didnt even say it... so i have no idea.
  22. The Dylan '66 show where he says "play it fuckin' loud" before they launch into Like a Rolling Stone is so great... but from what i hear.. he didnt say that. But i still like to think he did. Other notables in my book are; Robert Johnson at the Crossroads, Roger Waters spitting on a fan in Montreal which sparked him creating the Wall, Justin Vernon of Bon Iver running away to his fathers hunting cabin to recover with NO intention of recording music, he comes back with a masterpiece. Al Kooper playing organ on Like a Rolling Stone.
