Are any of you going to this? I'm on the fence. On one hand: Wilco within 1.5 hours of my house with brand new tunes. On the other: Festival length set, 20,000+ crowd, many jam bands (none of whom I'm interested in), $80 ticket. Have any of you attended before? Other than NFF and S.S. I tend to avoid festivals. Is this one bearable?

I totally agree. It's potentially disastrous as well as completely unsurprising. I'd imagine that part of our government is run as incompetently as the others. I'm sure we'll be hearing a lot about it very soon. In the meantime, it's not hard to understand why the media is covering the flag thing. To a large portion of this country, having a symbol of slavery flying over government buildings was hugely insulting. It needed to come down. They all do (again, I'm referring only to government - rednecks should continue to fly them so they can be identified & shunned by modern society).

My condolences as you move through this difficult time.

Solid Sound's Saturday set is up!

I'll take weed smokers over drinkers at a show any day. far less likely to stagger into you or get loud & obnoxious. Also, the more enthusiastic drinkers are forever making trips through the crowd to either re-fill or pee. As to the kids comments, I guess it all depends on the kids. My girls are six, and they had a wonderful time. One of them insisted on sitting on my shoulders through the Saturday set. In the rain. They also sat perfectly quiet and fascinated through Stained Radiance. We sat on the hill on Friday with most of the other families (same as 2013) , and although there was

They're definitely Roadcasing Friday's set, but Saturday's recording had some issues. The rain caused some sizzle on a couple of mics, apparently. I really hope they can work with it, because it was an amazing show. -

Thank you! -
What an incredible weekend. Personal highlights for me (other than the two amazing Wilco sets): A random encounter with Jeff and Spencer early Friday as we were taking or daughters to a playground behind Mass MoCA - they were super cool and we got a few great pics of them with our girls. I got to be part of Glenn's drum orchestra. A lot of fun & we got to keep the drum heads afterwards. Got my poster book signed. William Tyler's excellent set. Nels & Norton Wisdom. Wow. Mind blowing. Also, it was great to meet a bunch of VCers over the course of the weekend - some for the f

I doubt it'll rain ALL weekend, but if it does I'll make the best of it. Not going to let it spoil a great weekend of music.

All packed & ready to hit the road tomorrow morning. I think we're going to make a stop in Williamstown to see the Van Gogh exhibit at the Clark museum. If any of you will be in North Adams tomorrow night, The Fantastic Negrito is playing outside. I caught his NPR tiny desk concert and liked it. Safe travels, everyone. See you there!
