  1. So for tonight, do all the same with the version that is up on bt.etree and give us a report on which you think sounds better . I would myself, but there's a hockey game to watch. I can't get settled until I decide which source I'm going to keep and share. I think I'll have some fun over the weekend doing this.
  2. No, you obviously WERE being boorish, rude, intrusive, and by your post here a lot worse names I could come up with. And that "dude" didn't need to relax. You obviously needed to shut the f up. It wasn't me on the hill, I had to ask two guys in front of me on the field to turn down the volume of their conversation. Which got them to shut the f up.
  3. Growing up in the Grateful Dead world, wearing GD related tee shirts was part of the communal fun of going to shows, and supporting the artists who came up with all those designs. The same goes for Wilco, with their posters and tee shirt collections. Those shirts are works of original art, love seeing them. I draw a line with the mass produced "tour shirts".
  4. Love that collection. You missed me! I've got a photo of me in a shirt you don't already have in your collection, you can have it if you want (and no problem if you don't)
  5. That's how they do things at JazzFest FYI. Works well.
  6. Great, thanks for the suggestions. Some friend's whose musical views I generally share are very high on her, so I was expecting to be really into her set. I'll give these suggestions a listen. Thanks. Love checking out something new (to me at least) to listen to. No words other than "great" "fantastic" etc. Love Hidalgo, love the Lobos. I couldn't come up with a setlist though. One additional comment, David is getting bigger and bigger. Scares me.
  7. Never saw Neko Case before, and I may have liked her in a different setting, but found her to be totally boring on Joe's Field right before Wilco. I don't think that was a good match. Or maybe I just think her music is boring wherever, but I liked the high energy of The Relatives or something to get you going right before Wilco. I haven't mentioned much about the museum, but the Xu Bing installations, Phoenix and the cigarette rug upstairs, were outstanding. And the Loft was real fun, especially the big photo on the end wall that allowed for you to step up and get your picture taken on t
  8. Yes, I also would have liked to have met up. I did meet up with kidsmoke and wilcome at the VC table when I entered on Friday afternoon, but didn't get much time to chat and never made it back. Looking forward to seeing your photos, I was blown away by Wilco's stage set and lighting. We always get a spot about 10 feet in front of the board, the sound and visuals were spectacular. Oh, and let me know what you think of the two different recordings. I totally expected nyctaper's to be the superior version, but I don't think so.
  9. Just got nyctaper's version, and am comparing it to Brennan's on bt.etree. At first A>B comparison, Brennan's is much brighter, nyc's more muffled. At least that's what it's sounding like on my not too good office speakers. Anyone else compare the two: http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=564880 Wilco Passion!
  10. No mention of SS '14 at all over the weekend. Given the amount of effort that goes into it, with no announcement I'm expecting next SS in'15. Hope I'm wrong.
  11. White Denim's jamming is one of the things that made for a great set I thought. I had heard a lot about their show, and they did not disappoint me. I'd never heard Marc Ribot before (I don't think), so that was great. I was there for Hidalgo, who never disappoints. The Border a music set was a highlight among many in another fantastic Solid Sound weekend.
  12. I agree with all of Tinnitus' random thoughts, except I did see lots of band members strolling around. We parked on the back streets on Saturday and walked to the museum with Ira of YLT, who was just out strolling by himself. One thing I would add is I much preferred the earlier finish time on Sunday of the previous SS's. for those of us who were hours away with jobs and real world to return to, I liked a 4 or 5 finish on Sunday. We were there in 2 cars and I couldn't convince anyone to stay for MMW's closing set, so bummed to have missed that. I did catch all of Ribot and Hidalgo though
  13. "Who does that"? Are you kidding me? I do that, and I in fact did just that on Saturday night when there were 2guys in front of me just chatting away song after song. Who does THAT? I frequently have to ask people to turn down the volume of their conversations during shows. I mean, if you want to chat with your buddy or on date night, go out to the lobby or here to an e Monty courtyard. I am there to hear and be transported by the music, and I really don't want to have to stand there and listen to some ongoing conversation..and whether the set is "lackluster" or not (which it wasn't), do
  14. I'm stunned as well. And nice to meet you and some otherVC'ers Friday, although only briefly.
  15. Back home with the post-Solid Sound blues. I've read through this topic, and I'll just repeat what I said a number of pages ago: Friday was one of the all time highlight shows for me. I'm still smiling about it. One for the ages. I actually feel bad for those who were there and came away with any amount of disappointment.
  16. Can't get through there. Is it up on bt.etree also? I found it, but it is "Brennan's recording" which i assume is not Dan's. Anyone check out that recording?
  17. Dan Lynch, is that you? Of Salat connection?
  18. Spoke to more than one person who felt the same way about Saturday, including my wife. Not me, I was still so pumped coming off Friday's show. They had me at I Got You (a surprise opener for sure) and never let go of me. I never checked the Bruins score once. there 's no other night that would happen. Maybe I enjoyed the more quiet acoustic based songs so much last night is because the absolutely stunning sound system. The sound has been perfect at every SS. I can't rank 2011's performances as better since Friday night all request was just the greatest thing ever!
  19. It was a great night of music. For sure. I made a lot of requests for Summerteeth, that was awesome that they did it. Something that doesn't show up on a set list is how gorgeous the stage set and lighting is. Beautiful colorful work. And crystal clear sound in an open field. Kudos to everyone involved in the production.
  20. That was just about the most fun show of all time! From the Boys Are Back opener to the last note played I thought it was awesome! Fuckin Wilco. Speechless. And that it was the most beautiful of Berkshires days/nights did not hurt.
  21. I'm thinking it has to. Good for the band and promoters. We'll see what it means for the patrons. It's been such an easy festival to be at before, parking, no lines, move wherever you want without hassle. Really hope it doesn't lose those charms.
  22. I think my head's gonna explode!
  23. Finally get to say this: White Denim and Wilco!
