  1. I was surprised that Hidden Track had not done a comprehensive review, and here it is posted today: http://www.glidemagazine.com/hiddentrack/review-and-photos-wilcos-solid-sound-festival/
  2. Trying to figure out what he meant by that. I think he must have been referring to the back into DS after CS? I thought I read somewhere that Nels sang. I listened to this, sounded to me that Bobby was singing DS.
  3. That's a great photo. Totally blows me away just to see a picture of Weir up on stage with Wilco. A convergence of my musical obsessions I never imagined to see.
  4. Dark Star > Cali Stars > Dark Star. With Nels playing Duane's Goldtop. Doubly loss for words. Wilco playing Dark Star. Who would have ever thunk it? And based on that c lip, totally nailing the Dark Star. Wowsa.
  5. Wilco certainly nails that transition back into Dark Star. sounds eerily like the Dead. Wilco is amazing.
  6. And to add to the DS mind melt, Nels was again playing Duane's '57 Goldtop. Damn, please let there be a recording of this somewhere.
  7. Awesome! Dead Flowers! One of my all time faves. Wilco nailed it at SS. Would be so happy to see this stay in the rotation for a while.
  8. I can only imagine the fireworks between Richard Thompson and Nels if he sits in with Wilco for some songs. Damn, I'm missing the Great Woods show.
  9. A hysterical take on Don't Fear the Reaper and the cowbell from SNL. Wilco's cowbell guy had all the right moves. http://www.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/719364/
  10. That is great news, Brennan's Friday recording is excellent! Can't wait to wrap my ears around Saturday night again at full volume.
  11. I can't imagine anyone but Richard Thompson playing that song. Whenever I see him or listen to a show, it's always "does he have to do that song again" and then he does it and my jaw always drops. Much like Impossible Germany. I'll have to check this out.
  12. His Friday videos are pretty good, definitely worth checking out, I think i've seen them all. He only has snippets for some tunes though (Cinnamon Girl comes to mind)
  13. What Richard Thompson song did Mark Mulcahy play? You're familiar with Sentimental Lady from a mix tape, try to get to listen to all of Bare Trees. Pre-Buckingham and Nicks Fleetwood Mac, one of the big albums among my friends in jr. h.s. and h.s. I've listened to it recently, still fantastic.
  14. +1 on that, been listening to the stream at work, sounds great. I chatted with the guy with the rig on the field, about 15-20 feet in front of the soundboard. He recorded both Wilco sets and said it would be a couple of weeks before his friend gets the recordings up.
  15. Is there a full show You Tube playlist put together? It's probably easy to do, but I've never done one and don't know how.
  16. I caught everyone but Reggie Watts, who my wife saw and didn't like too much. I was already a big fan of Jen Kirkman from Chelsea Lately (plus she's from Needham where we live) and Al Madrigal, and both their sets were hysterical. John Hodgman emceed, and he was not that funny. So for me, the comedy cabaret was all about Jen and Al.
  17. It's the Wilco telephone "It's for you" shirt. I imagine you've seen it.
  18. The Btree source is definitely brighter sounding. Hardly any unwanted crowd noise, just enough to catch the energy. A very Solid recording.
  19. So for tonight, do all the same with the version that is up on bt.etree and give us a report on which you think sounds better . I would myself, but there's a hockey game to watch. I can't get settled until I decide which source I'm going to keep and share. I think I'll have some fun over the weekend doing this.
  20. No, you obviously WERE being boorish, rude, intrusive, and by your post here a lot worse names I could come up with. And that "dude" didn't need to relax. You obviously needed to shut the f up. It wasn't me on the hill, I had to ask two guys in front of me on the field to turn down the volume of their conversation. Which got them to shut the f up.
  21. Growing up in the Grateful Dead world, wearing GD related tee shirts was part of the communal fun of going to shows, and supporting the artists who came up with all those designs. The same goes for Wilco, with their posters and tee shirt collections. Those shirts are works of original art, love seeing them. I draw a line with the mass produced "tour shirts".
  22. Love that collection. You missed me! I've got a photo of me in a shirt you don't already have in your collection, you can have it if you want (and no problem if you don't)
  23. That's how they do things at JazzFest FYI. Works well.
