  1. Pure magic. This DS played a large role in sucking me onto the bus. Oh yes. Isn't this in the '73 Winterland box set? That box set is way up at or near the top of my favorites.
  2. Another killer album from the Truckers. These guys are so damn good. Here's the review from The Ringer: https://www.theringer.com/music/2020/2/3/21119603/drive-by-truckers-great-unraveling-patterson-hood-interview Kot just announced he's leaving the Tribune. Too bad.
  3. Thanks for starting this topic Donna, I just kicked in. Hope it gets finished.
  4. The personal is what makes things human and interesting. Thanks for sharing.
  5. Love the photos and words Tim. I've only been able to get through Days 1 and 2, I'm taking it slow and savoring the experience. Like a fine wine . As I'm going through I'm looking for some shots to add to my office to join your shots from Solid Sound 2010 (or was it 2011).
  6. I've been wondering how much I spent (I am terrible remembering numbers and at the time the cost didn't matter). I looked back at my account, and with one extra day added I spent $4700 for my son and me to stay in a king size suite with a rooftop deck in bldg. 3, without air. The prices vary depending on room class, I could have spent less or more if I chose. All in all I feel it was great value. Everything was included and there was no shortage of food, drink or music day and night. When I figured out the a la carte pricing for 4 days of concert tickets for two, eating and drinking for two fo
  7. Ghostlight and Greensky Bluegrass. I'm exhausted from SBS but the shows go on.
  8. Nothing irrational about that. Those 2 songs killed, I've always loved hearing them live.
  9. We were told 1800 tix sold. Like first SS, very good for the patrons, not so much fore the promoters but they look at this as a long term project. From my perspective and interractions, I'd say this is a solid Wilco show. Don't get any vibe this is a resort vacation and yeah, we'll here some music kind of crowd. But YMMV. Nice to finally get to meet our intrepid reporter Paul last night. And i got my Monday!
  10. BTW for you CB fans, the new tune was absolutely fantastic! I great guitar riff tune. You'll be happy to hear it.
  11. I was wrong about that. Courtney was solo but very much electric.
  12. Yes, we were at Mikael’s set. I didn’t know what to expect and was thrilled to hear all funk and soul grooves. It was such a nice add to an already amazing night
  13. Epic show for me and my crew. Outstanding. That set list and the band delivered powerful versions of each. And a lot of rock n roll.
  14. Sky Blue Sky: Courtney Barnett-solo acoustic Wilco and then everything listed through Tuesday
  15. Very psyched about this release. A freaking classic show. I had this on cassette going back years and it was always a fave. Fantastic Spanish Jam. That entire jam sequence is a winner. Will be glad to have this cleaned up.
  16. in 108 row 14 tonight. We'll be at the Blind Tiger pre-show
  17. Hey, let's play two! Phish Phish after-party midnight set at Sony Hall with Medeski, Martin, Metzger and some guy Nels Cline!
  18. Spiders! I came into town for the Sunday and Monday shows knowing I wasn't going to catch everything, but damn I would have liked to have heard Spiders. I was at that last one played in St. Paul.
  19. Ian O'Neil of Deer Tick is opening. Any thoughts on whether that's a set I should catch?
  20. Yes, I noticed the absence of any mention of Pat. It's criminal, I love Pat's guitar work on that blonde Tele, in addition to everything else he does but particularly his guitar playing.
  21. Agree I also did not perceive this to be a special hometown show, but to my first time in Chicago ears it was very cool to hear Via Chicago in front of the hometown crowd, a definite extra buzz in the audience
  22. Wilco and Robyn Hitchcock for me too! On a plane waiting to take off from BOS.
