Exactly the reasons I’ve always stayed away from philzone, etc. I miss the DOS days of The WELL. Don’t get me wrong, I totally get the enormous psychic draw of the Dead scene, but I don’t live my life according to quotes from the lyrics nor have any of my GD friends or other fellow travelers I’ve hung with along the way. I will add last night’s MSG Phish show to my list. Got to go with my soon to be 29year old son. He was 7 (and my daughter was 9+) when we took a family outing for their first Phish show, the famous Worcester Runaway Jam show. I was at that Zak Wylde show at a Great Woods and I was pissed. Dickey had gotten arrested or something after the previous show in Albany. They should have cancelled the Great Woods show. Zak was so out of place, with his bullseye guitar and strange prancing heavy metal act. I felt so ripped off I boycotted the band for several years. I was surprised Rather didn’t ask him about his alcohol abuse and feuding with band members. I always thought that’s what got him kicked out. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I got a kick when he started talking about Richard Thompson during a discussion about guitar proficiency. Jeff produced one of RT's recent albums at the Loft and seems to have had a very good relationship with him. "Richard talked a lot about the Queen." RT played Solid Sound. I wanted to yell out that Richard was playing at the Paradise last night, but I was in the Mezz. I had tickets for both shows. I got the impression that Jeff had no idea. I think he led into that by saying the books answered questions nobody asks him, like did you have good times with Jay. Or something like that. He spoke about this in one of the many book review interviews I've read.

Jeff was good. He was Jeff I didn't like the interviewer (from WBUR/NPR). She did not seem to know how to approach the evening. She was a detriment to the night to my perceptions. DId you catch Abbi Jacobson in NY? I would have liked to have seen her do this.

There's a discussion going on over in the Solid Sound '19 group about "Jeff" dropping TMM. Apparently there's nothing in the public domain about this. Also not clear if this refers to just JT or Wilco too. Anyone with knowledge in a position to speak to this?
