Me too. Glad I didn't sit on it.

I'm booked! With my (by then 30 year old) son. Now on to flights.

Bare Trees is way up there in the rock pantheon in my view. We played the heck out of that album in the mid-late '70's.

Sound like Dead and Co. were at the same location as SBS, yes?

I can assure you from my own experience some assholes won't need a free drink venue. During the first night of the last Beacon run my wife and I had good seats on the floor except for the 3 NY bros relentlessly talking behind us. I finally turned and (politely I thought) just asked them to turn down the volume. Nothing aggressive or rude. Within a few minutes one of those jerks poured an entire beer on my jacket as he was heading to the aisle to go buy more. Those Beacon beers are not cheap. So I'm not buying any view that holds that SBS will attract assholes any more than is possible at any o

I expect this to be a Wilco crowd. I wouldn't expect there's much to gather about the vibe from the Dead and Co. or Phish or MMJ Mexican festivals. I've never wanted to go to Mexico at the risk of getting sick from the water, but I'm going to drop my objection for SBS. Being in the sun on the beach during the day and having WIlco and other favorite bands right there at night sounds too good to pass up.

I hadn't thought of a blizzard. Good point. I was thinking hurricane. If my memory serves, one of these festivals got blown out by a hurricane within the last couple of years.

Seems like a stretch to call this "Wilco Related."

(I thought I posted this but it's not showing up on my screen) Hey ditty, any suggestions on booking rooms at this place? Looks like there are two sides, not sure if there's a difference but the website says there is. Any thoughts you could share about the place would be appreciated, thanks.

Wilco announces a 4-day Wilco festival and there is zero chatter about that here on VC? A dying neighborhood here? Anyhow, I've never been to any of these Mexico beach party music festivals, but everyone I've spoken to who has says they're a blast. I'm going to plan to go. It's a big expense but it will be a vacation and I'll go with my son. I'm missing SS for the first time so this takes a little bit of the sting out of that. I have looked at the FB chatter. I don't subscribe to the view that this is some sort of "sell-out" by the band. I look at it as a chance to have a beach vacation whi

Last night my firm celebrated our 40th anniversary with a client event at City Winery with Barrence Whitfield and the Savages.

I don't see any other mention of it here, I just came across Joan Osborne's instagram account (when she "liked" several of my music posts) and saw she recently posted two videos of Nels laying down guitar tracks for her new album of original material. Sounds great! https://www.instagram.com/p/BvoopcOhTnb/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link https://www.instagram.com/p/BvnhMwGhY3n/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

I thought it was ok. I had not heard a single note of this music before going to the show, so that often impacts my ability to connect with the music on first listen. I've never been a huge fan of Trey's songs from a lyrics perspective (amateur hour, especially after having just seen Jeff on Saturday), but there were many moments of musical transcendence. I left early (around 10:20) before the main set ended (because I wanted to get home not because the show sucked), but I had no regrets about leaving. Almost 2 hours into the show I hadn't heard a song I was familiar with. So all in all, I sco

Just scored a ticket for Trey/Ghosts of the Forest.

Is there any way to pre-order?

Jeff was in fine form tonight. Outstanding playing in an acoustically perfect venue, and lots of loose and hysterical banter. Really funny when after he just finished One SUnday Morning a group of 3 or 4 folks first came in to their seats in like the second row to his right. “Oh great, now I’m going to have to start all over. I just did a song with 12 verses, I can’t do that again.” And “if you plan to leave early you get there on time.” My life motto exactly. Jeff was on the crowd for being too laid back. “Are the seats really comfortable?” I think he said that a couple of times. Later he

Any comments on Buck Meek? He's opening in Boston, I'm not familiar with him. -

Wristbands at 10, how much earlier will people start lining up? I have no idea. 100 people will get wristbands. -

Yea, I feel the same way. Would love to be in the room but that's a lot of idle hours for a 30 minute performance when I'm seeing him that night. -

Just called the store. No wristbands in advance. They open at 10 am on Saturday and it will be first come first served. About 100 folks will get in. -
Just got the weekly Newbury Comics new releases email. Lo and behold, Boston Mayor Walsh declared Saturday Newbury Comics Day in Boston, and to celebrate Jeff Tweedy will be doing an in-store performance at 12:15 at the Newbury Street store.
