  1. Once again, can't get through to Wilco server for presale
  2. My memory is there was a period where many shows were devoid of any W(TA) sings played, to the point it was noticeable and discussed here. Then when they did the odd song once in a while, it would not show up on the Roadcase. My memory could be faulty, but that's my memory, without studying the actual setlists.
  3. If the ballot box stuffing doesn't work, she won't ask. Will be just like a question unposed.
  4. Done. In return, I'll ask for requests for Jan 29 at Orpheum for She's A Jar, my wife's favorite Wilco song.
  5. And I did it from my computer and got Right Orch Row B seats 119 and 121. No way to figure how to get the best seats.
  6. The seat selection had little to do with place in line. I was second in line, I first pulled a pair in Orch. Row E, seats 2 and 4. Those are all the way to the right. After getting those two, I asked for another pair, they would have been obstructed view. I passed. My friend 5 people behind in line pulled a pair 5th row right center. That annoyed the heck out of me.
  7. This skipping Philly thing is strange. I get that there are lots of cities in this country with Wilco fans (heck, the world), and no band can realistically cover the entire continental U.S., but they are frequently in the northeast to mid-atlantic, and to repeatedly skip a major metro area like Philly is strange. There must be a reason. Like when they weren't playing songs from W(TA), that was noticeable and strange, and turns out there was a reason. Maybe they don't like the promoter in Philly? I read somewhere that last time Pat got hit with a D battery. Ouch! Could that be the reason?
  8. Fewer than 10 people. Which was surprising to me. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. I drove down for the second night last year. Peter Shapiro did a great job with the venue- the sound and lights are superb. So I would encourage anyone thinking about it to make the trip. I like the venue so much I'm thinking of making the drive even after Portland and (hopefully) 2 nights at the Orpheum. EDIT: as I think about this, since these are not Evening With shows, I probably won't make the trip after already seeing 3 shows. But my own analysis notwithstanding, the Cap Theater is a venue worth making the trip for. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. Undecided. The big plus was I didn't have to deal with getting locked out online. Downside is you have to take whatever seats they spit out, or go to back if line basically. I learned last week that being second in line didn't get me the best seats, as my buddy several people behind got way better seats. I will see what happens on Wednesday I guess. 11. When I told my wife a second Orpheum show was added, her response was "I guess if they're playing Friday and Saturday we're going to both?" Recipe for a great marriage! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. This sound check footage and interview from the '76 Beacon shows is very cool. Love the crowd shots outside the Beacon. I was at both these shows. Coming back on the road after the hiatus, our excitement level was off the charts. What a different band from that which was last seen in the NYC area on 8-6-74. In retrospect, I'm not overly fond if the '76 shows, certain not when compared to what was to come in '77, but they sure were fun. http://www.jambase.com/Articles/126773/More-1976-Grateful-Dead-Soundcheck-Footage-Surfaces
  13. Back from the Orpheum box office. That was an experience. Got there about 8:45, I was second in line. When the box opened, I asked for best 2 available, got right orch Row E seats 2 and 4. On the aisle to the center, but still farther right than I wanted. I then asked for the next best 2 available for my friend, pulled obstructed view, let those go. When it was time for my friend who was 6th in line he gets 5th row right center (Row KK, triple digit seats). I am so fucking pissed at that point, I'm standing at the box office on my ipad trying to get better tickets, I then get back in lin
  14. I had enough of this Live Nation/Ticketbastard on line bullshit. I'm second in line at the Orpheum box office.
  15. Nor was it so hard to pull presale tix for the Wang show, their last in Boston. I got a pair first row behind the pit.
  16. Just saw on FB today is the 42nd birthday of Wake of the Flood. Wowza, time flies. Funny thing about that album when it was released it was sort of a disappointment to me and a lot of the GD world, coming after Europe '72. Today, it's one of my favorite studio albums, and I can be heard saying side 2 is my favorite single side of any GD studio release.
  17. I'm not embarrassed to admit I always liked When Push Comes to Shove. As someone else noted, a good bounce to that tune.
  18. Perhaps the answer for Boston is multiple nights. Heaven forbid they end up playing the Garden.
  19. I can't even get onto the Live Nation site from the Wilco link
  20. nothing in the pre-sale. nothing nothing nothing Do they sell at the box office tomorrow? If so, I'll see you there.
  21. I agree. It's the old trade off between being up front for the visuals of really seeing the band playing and the interactions, but you definitely give up somewhat on the sound, particularly the vocals which don't come off the stage but only the PA hung in the air on either side. That sonic sweet spot is always several rows back in the center. Your wife has a good point!
  22. Hearing the opening to Victim was always a buzzkill, even if the song did get goods towards the middle or end. Hearing the opening chords to Foolish was always pure joy. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
