  1. Yes, I noticed the absence of any mention of Pat. It's criminal, I love Pat's guitar work on that blonde Tele, in addition to everything else he does but particularly his guitar playing.
  2. Agree I also did not perceive this to be a special hometown show, but to my first time in Chicago ears it was very cool to hear Via Chicago in front of the hometown crowd, a definite extra buzz in the audience
  3. Wilco and Robyn Hitchcock for me too! On a plane waiting to take off from BOS.
  4. Woke up this morning in Boston and all of a sudden it hit me that I'm seeing Wilco 2x in Chicago starting this very weekend! Psyched
  5. The link says they're broadcasting the Thursday show.
  6. Everyone's looking for different things. I always have tons of fun and get a lot of joy from seeing Phish. Friday was a particularly special night (although the Saturday show totally killed) as I was there with my 29 year old son on the exact 22nd anniversary of his (and his sister's) first show (the Runaway Jam show in Worcester). So that was extra fun, although he would have much preferred the Saturday show. Speaking of Big Cypress, I've been listening to a podcast series about Cypress, "After Midnight, Phish's Big Cypress Festival." Very interesting.
  7. Turning back the calendar, Phish in Providence Friday and Saturday
  8. I would always say '72-74 is my favorite era, but if we're talking about a single year it's '73 hands down.
  9. I'm going to NYC for the first two Phish NYE run shows at MSG. Got tickets for this after party-Nels, Medeski, Martin and Scott Metzger. Should be a blast. https://www.sonyhall.com/events/a-phish-after-party-featuring-medeski-martin-metzger-cline/
  10. Well don't waste any more time, get this one going! '73 Dead always goes to the top of my new release playlist
  11. Oh yes, what a rocked out intense show. In the Nudie suits to boot! The "work in progress" version of One Wing is a highlight. Very minimalistic arrangement for the song, then at the end the entire band goes off in a walloping jam. Love it.
  12. Despite all the snickers from the peanut gallery , was a great show for everyone in the house for sure. I've grown up with The Last Waltz soundtrack and movie, zillions of plays, so I was totally into seeing this collection of musicians play that music. Plus, I'm a "Warren guy" and I'll see anything he tours.
  13. Ha! I didn't notice any Lucas boogers, but I was 5th row in right center and staring at that Jamie Johnson guy all night. I would put up a photo but file size is too large, just like him takes a lot of storage to get a shot of him!
  14. Coming in from Boston for the first two nights,. This will be my first time at the Chicago Theater. Any feedback on the seating will be welcome. I see the orchestra starts at AA. Does the run all the way to ZZ before the single letter rows? How far over the orchestra does the second level hang, at what row in the orch do you start to be under the upper level? And lastly, are the Loge seats the level below the balcony? Thanks for any thoughts.
  15. Yes, and then next year they could have The Comeback Waltz
  16. I think I've read that the colored vinyl's are more likely to sound less than stellar. There's lots of discussions about this (and everything music and audio related over on the Hoffman forum.
  17. I take that back. Listening to Today in Grateful Dead History, Worcester 11/5/85. Lemieux says Walton brought almost the entire team to this show, so this is probably what I was referring to.
  18. From my faded memory, it could have been the '91 run. And I seem to recall that McHale and Chief were in on that outing. Parish would fit right in with all the pot smoking
  19. Thanks. I've been keeping OneNote files year by year.
  20. Thanks, it was good. I was not familiar with their music (I mostly know them from the Day of the Dead box set). My 29 year old son has been very into the band for years but had never seen them. We realized they were playing yesterday morning so we scooped some good seats and went.
