This is true. My wife and I both say that so much of our wedding day is a blur, but her strongest memory of the reception is her dancing with her dad. He died very unexpectedly a few years later, so I'm really glad that they got to experience that together. I now have 3 little girls of my own, so I could potentially get a lot of practice at doing this if I'm lucky enough to still be around for it. Regardless of what songs play, I expect to be a weepy mess.

First song was a tearjerker country song picked out by my wife. (lesson #1, fellas: compromise) After a few sappy songs for the first-dance/parent-dance/etc, my first pick to open up the dancefloor to everybody was "Sound System" by Operation Ivy. Approximately 4 of my friends joined me on the dancefloor, but it was awesome!!

Tag (game) Tag (also known as it, touch, tiggy, tick, chasing, chasemaster, chasey) is an informal playground game that usually involves two or more players attempting to "tag" other players by touching them with an object, usually their hands. Played throughout the world,[1] tag is inherently simple

What's the oldest thing in your house?

Good one! Since I can't decide on a specific object, I'm going to go out on a limb and say: atoms! -
Don't have a pic of one of those, but you brought this to mind (which my parents still proudly have on their house, although the neighborhood kids probably think its for attracting birds to sit on or something):

...but has anybody heard it yet??

Dude, I am wearing those right now! Does that make me nostalgic for....now?

OMG, Captain 20!!! I remember the one where he was "flying" Superman-style and then demonstrated how the blue-screen effect worked. That dude was awesome! BTW, I may have missed it, but has anyone mentioned this yet?

Way to generalize, man. Cat-racist.

Just when they looked dead in the water, the Buckeyes have put together a couple nice wins against Purdue and Mich St. They'll probably have to take down Sparty again on Friday to get in for sure, but hey, not bad for a team that looked like they had given up a week ago. Streaky. That can be fun this time of year.

I heard this wasn't a very good movie. -
Or will it?

Ok, I can see that. More daylight is definitely a good thing. I actually enjoy the shorter days in the late fall--from Halloween through New Year the early darkness has a novelty to it and is kind of invigorating. After that, my seasonal-depression kicks in around mid-January and I stay in a funk until baseball season starts.

I would like to file a formal complaint with whomever decided it was a good idea to mess with the start and end dates of daylight savings time. I hadn't realized how much emotional significance I had attached to the timing of the time changes until they went and messed with it. And now its just all screwed up. Halloween is now bright and sunny for trick or treating. WTF? And don't get me started about the spring time change. Typically a harbinger of springtime, I usually find myself spending as much time as possible outside the first few days after the time change--playing outside with

I am only recently coming around to them--its been a slow-grower for me. Z was the first album of theirs I heard and I still don't care much for 75% of that record. Then, at some point, I picked up At Dawn and it has slowly worked its way into my brain to the point that I absolutely love it now. Took a while before I had my breakthrough with this band, though. I think if you're listening with the expectation of being blown away, you won't be. For me, it sneaked up on me after I had already dismissed them as being kind of dull.

What's the oldest thing in your house?

Wow, lots of folks here with old houses. My former house dated to roughly 1928 (though the exact date was never actually recorded with the town, so give or take a year or two). Loved that house, although I really didn't have the time or the money to keep up with the maintenance the way it needed. My new house was built in 1998. Definitely less character. At least I don't freeze through the winter anymore, though. These are the tradeoffs. I'm not even sure what the oldest thing in the house is now. Undoubtedly, some spare parts from the old house made the trip in my boxes of tools. A -
Yeah, when my symptoms popped up recently I was living in a new part of the country than where I had been during my last course of treatment and so I'm dealing with docs who are unfamiliar with my situation, but have been unwaveringly willing to give me whatever meds I ask for. (in my case, I'm trying to keep the meds to a minimum, so I just requested a low dose of Luvox and Klonopin, which is what I had been on previously and worked for me) But it was a weird feeling that I was basically writing my own prescription. I could have asked for something heavier and I bet they would have been hap

More common than you would think, and yet, I too am a little surprised at the number of people coming forward to talk about how Jeff's story touched them, personally. I've been through off/on battles with panic and depression for years. A few years back I went through an absolutely debilitating period of a panic disorder that I let go untreated until it was at the point that it had damn near destroyed me. It was about this time that I came back to Wilco's music after losing interest for a while--when YHF came out, I immediately zeroed into Radio Cure, not because it was my "favorite" song o

I think I had a few thoughtful comments to add after reading that, but I think I missed my window of opportunity. We seem to be onto a whole other discussion now. Give me a minute to switch my brain back into sarcasm mode. Ok, I'm ready to roll...

How did you come by your VC Handle?

One day back when I was a lurker I noticed a clock showing the time as 2:45 reflecting off a cd that was sitting on my desk. No joke. Come on, quarter to 3:00...reflecting off a cd? How could I not use that one as my name on a Wilco board? -

Hey, at least you guys sat around playing D&D with other people. I can remember wasting a whole summer playing that Pool of Radiance D&D computer game on my parents' old XT--each move took about 1 minute to process, thereby guaranteeing that each session of game play took no less than about 10 hours.
