Just listened to coney island baby (glory of love)... You know, man, when I was a young man in high school you believe in or not I wanted to play football for the coach And all those older guys they said he was mean and cruel, but you know wanted to play football for the coach They said I was to little too light weight to play line-backer so I say I'm playing right-end wanted to play football for the coach 'Cause, you know some day, man you gotta stand up straight unless you're gonna fall then you're gone to die And the straightest dude I ever knew was standing right for me all the time

well......it really is a special version of scarlet fire...probably one of the finest transitions ever. I'd be surprised if the quality is better than this: http://archive.org/details/gd1980-11-30.110936.mtx.chappell.sb31.flac16

8) silent footage of Ted Cruz....
-
Some of the official concert releases from the band have the "trip out" segments - hate it....would much rather see the instruments being played...

I've always liked 35 year old rockers who wear pastel colored polo shirts and too-short cut off shorts...which era would cater to that? Yup...

Felina...how awesome that the Dead sang that name over 2000 times (?)....

i liked the finale...but, unlike the previous seasons, the finale seemed a bit implausible to me. Everything just seemed to really fall in place for Walt - moreso than with anything else he had done. It would have been a real kick in the gut (but a satisfying kick) if after walt killed hte fascists and jessie escaped - the episode suddenly showed walt still lying in teh cabin in new hampshire - freezing to death...revealing that the finale was nothing more a dying man's last fantasy...

Game of Cards (spacey show) was fun to watch to see him act...but for me the plot becomes a bit implausible during the later episodes of season 1, and some of the character development is a bit weak....but, spacey is fantastic....

watched first 7 episodes of season 1 with my wife. Really liked the Jeff Daniels character but the supporting characters were very difficult to digest. The young blonde female actually made us quit watching the show. The idea is great, the over the top political bias was hard to swallow, but the horrible writing surrounding the blossoming in the shadow romance of the young blonde female and the other guy ruined the show for us... Daniels beat spacey, hamm and cranston for the emmy? wow....whatever credibility the emmys had was lost with that decision...

more predictions.... 1) walt machine guns the fascists...and recovers his barrels... 2) discovers jessie and helps him purchase a vacuum with a plurality of his barrels...(with Brock?)... 3) locates Elliot and blackmails him into providing for his family...with his remaining barrels... 4) turns himself in to the DEA...clandestinely consumes his ricin...and completely absolves his family of any culpability with his last 72 hours...((((less likely but maybe an option, he releases the "hank made me do it" dvd to absolve his family??)))) 5) dies on his own terms...(see, e.g., youtube clip below

well done analysis on the "dual" images of walter white shown throughout the show... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRRUMoZnN1o

listening to the 10.15.1977 new audience right now...what an amazing and extremely underrated show...the St. Stephen may be the best from 76 or 77...and transition from NFA into Stella rivals 6.18.1974... http://archive.org/details/gd1977-10-15.aud.ordon.sorochty.125642.flac16

Ya...the Greatest Story is probably among the finest (better than 9.28.1972?), as is the China Cat Rider (especially the transition from China into Rider (is there a better transition?))...the PITB is probably the best summer 1972 psychedelic sprinting version... ...and at the end of Dark Star you can hear jerry really wanted to enter mourning dew...but weir pressed for el paso....hmmm.....
-
Great catch on that picture...the whole show has really done a beautiful job of showing the dual personalities of walter white...the breaking bad man vs. the broken man... check out this image while he was lying in the sand - both visages of walter are present...stunning...you can see both sets of eyes - equally in horror...
-
looking for a satisfying ending as well....I was so disappointed with Lost....but I loved the Sopranos ending (Tony was shot)... Can you imagine how awesome Lost would have been if it had been an HBO show?
-
not if they are safely relocated with new identities and the $$$...
-
pure speculation... 1) hank and gomie die...jesse lives... 2) case against walt evaporates... 3) cartel kills marie, jessie, and todd because they don't need them... 3) new cartel forces walt to cook... 4) walt wants out for him adn his family...walt stages his demise - trashes house / spray paints heisenberg on wall... 4) walt contacts the "vacuum" relocation service and has family relocated to New Hampshire...with his money... 5) walt's cancer progressively gets worse... 6) walt returns to get revenge on cartel...lures them into trap...walt kills cartel...walt turns himself in to get feds

i liked Liberty and So Many Roads...

Right...late 73...check out the 12.12.1973 PITB - no donna screams.... I guess weir could have stepped up and provided the "wo-oh-woa-oh-ya-yahhhhhhhh...."
-
I like Donna too...but some of the PITBs were harsh...just like some of the 1967 morning dews were harsh....and nearly every post 1986 throwin stones where weir struggled with the "on our own....."
-
I wonder with modern mixing if some of the Donna wails could be digitally removed...
