  1. Not quite Wilco, but still a great video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHTkTBqvPnQ
  2. The Knightly Order of the Brothers Gibb wishes you a Happy Birthday.
  3. Pricing: Just Wi-Fi: 16GB - $499 32GB - $599 64GB - $699 With 3G radio: 16GB - $629 32GB - $729 64GB - $829 About what I expected. I'm not sure I see many people going for the 16 GB model when you can quadruple your memory for only $200 more.
  4. Pretty appropriate - Bob and Joan performing at the March on Washington before MLK delivered his 'I Have a Dream' speech. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vhNCRlXm1s&feature=related
  5. The Outtasite video is the one with stunts / skydiving. You can tell that they use stunt doubles but through the magic of some pretty great editing, it's not easy to discern that unless you look closely. Real John: Stunt Double John:
  6. The Outtasite video is fantastic. The worst Wilco video is Shot in the Arm. It features a lot of music video cliches and includes Jeff being held down / wheeled around in a hospital gurney. Good luck trying to find it on the interwebs though, it appears the Good Taste police have stricken it from the record.
  7. My uncle had this surgery. And had it again to fix the first surgery. And had it again to fix the other two surgeries.

    Axl

Morgan Spurlock? Maybe Axl should stop Super-Sizing it.
  9. Pitchfork gave it a 9.0: http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/13872-teen-dream/
  10. Setlist looks ridiculously cool, plus the new song. Of course, just about any setlist Radiohead plays is pretty great to me, they have so many good songs.
  11. Didn't they play Vicar Street two nights in a row? That would mean that some of the costs (i.e. flights) would at least be shared between the two gigs.

I'm still 1000% convinced it's Gervais! Note the expression! I'll continue thinking this until the day I die.

I could be wrong, but I'm kind of guessing that's a fat comedian (Ricky Gervais?) playing Axl, not Mr. Rose itself.
  14. Very nicely done, going to use those.
  15. They'll only be true sellouts when they have their own Saturday morning cartoon show, The Wilco Kids™. The Wilco Kids™ will feature a half hour of zany comedy and musical interludes. Young versions of our favorite Wilco members hang out in the neigborhood, come up with solutions to problems, make new friends, solve mysteries, and play songs at the end of each episode. They all congregate in a treehouse with the words "teh LoFt" painted on the side. Each of the Wilco Kids™ also happens to have a superpower. Nels, for example, can shred any object into a pulp with his bare hands. They'll
  16. Only on VC can you have an thought-provoking, highly intelligent conversation on the finer points of Supreme Court decision-making and refer to the excellent analysis provided by someone named Poongoogler. (No offense Neil, the juxtaposition just cracks me up. )
  17. Yeah, the album ranking is a long-running joke on here. Don't mind me.
  18. Yeah, I guess it's been all of like three weeks since the last album ranking thread.
  19. It's pretty ridiculous how densely populated they become after a while. This is what the Mississippi looks like near Grafton, IL outside of St. Louis: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdcQ56OpxNE
  20. Contra topped the Billboard charts this week and sold 124,000 copies. http://music-mix.ew.com/2010/01/20/vampire-weekend-album-chart/
