Led Zep innovated too a bit. There's a progression from You Shook Me to Stairway to Heaven. Communication Breakdown is quite a distance away from the blues to as to be considered unchartered territory. (Actually, if anything, it ripped off the Yardbirds.) -

He learned that from Ry Cooder during the Beggars Banquet sessions. It's an old slide guitar technique. -

When you peel back all the layers, Bruce Springsteen is a cornball lyrical hack who sings like the man hasn't taken a crap in about 5 months. -
There's a great deal of truth in this. I mean, come up with something that is cheesy, crass, corny, manufactured, manipulative, or plastic and I'll show you a timeless classic from the '70s that tugs at your heartstrings: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOiKa51ll-k&feature=related

Since Wilco covered a Steely Dan song for a soundtrack, does that make 'em Satan worshippers? (personally I love Steely Dan)

Yeah, they're a bit under the radar. I listened to it today and forgot how sad it was (in a good way, kind of like Sea Change or Blood on the Tracks.)

If you've tried several channels and no one's gotten back to you, maybe it's not in the cards.

It's a hilarious account of some dude's acid trip listening to Blonde on Blonde I came across on the internet somewhere.

Dolorean - You Can't Win - great laidback affair that runs in similar stylistic circles to Being There.

I think it was to prove he's capable of taking all the ribbing he's gotten lately and that he's good humored about it. It's the same reason Palin appeared on Saturday Night Live with Tina Fey - a good PR move when you are getting decimated on a daily / nightly basis.

That's awful Kate, sympathies & vibes to her friends & family.

During that video you can almost hear her inner voice... I.V.: "Blabber, buy time, delay... delay just long enough to remember one founding father... I can't even think of one, can I? Oh come on Sarah, think! Wait, there was that general dude.. president.. dollar bill.. uh... keep delaying, Beck is catching on to me... Just like that Katie Coorsshack... Another media moment gotcha... Was.. Wasomething... Washington!' Palin: "George Washington lead them there fathers, so he had to rise to the top - you betcha!"

So much for "passing the torch"....... Here's to another 5 (or 10) years of Leno.

It wasn't an error, it was all part of God's plan. And God really loves stupid crazy people. -
That's great. Have you heard anything about how long the show is scheduled for?

Either that, or he changes his name to a symbol, and is referred to in the media as the 'The Talk Show Host Formerly Known as Conan' for the next three years.
-
Definitely, no arguments there - voted for him twice, supported him even throughout Lewinskygate. He's just been a perpetual embarrassment, and either too egotistical or too stupid to realize it.

What would we do in times like these without Grade A Jackasses like Robertson? Haiti earthquake: Televangelist Pat Robertson links quake to 'pact with the devil' January 14, 2010 | 7:24 am By Andrew Zajac Reporting from Washington -- Conservative televangelist the Rev. Pat Robertson on Wednesday linked the earthquake in Haiti to a "pact with the devil" purportedly entered into by the Haitian people in the late 18th century in a bid to defeat French colonizers. "Something happened a long time ago in Haiti, and people might not want to talk about it," Robertson said on his Christian Bro
