  1. The achilles is the worst. I didn't tear mine but I broke my ankle almost two years ago (requiring surgery) and had to keep my ankle immobile for several weeks which lead to extreme stiffness and almost no range of motion in the achilles when I was able to start walking again. Getting the flexibility and range of motion back was brutal. It's a long slow process where you make miniscule gains everyday. It took me close to a year of PT and I'm still not 100% there after almost 2 years. (Didn't stop me from going to Solid Sound 2 years in a row though ) I wish you the best in your recovery.

    Two Questions

Absolutely agree. I love the whole arc that Wilco's music has taken, but there is something fantastic and just pure rock and roll about those days.

    Almost

I interpreted those songs differently. Wilco (The Song) to me, is about music being there for you when nothing else is. I didn't take it as condescending at all. Actually quite the opposite. I think Wilco has always shown a tremendous amount of respect for their fans, which is one of the reasons (for me) that it is so satisfying being one. You Never Know, while not a song I really like, conveys a sentiment I can totally agree with. I tend to keep meeting all of these people living in fear of the Mayan Calendar / End of the World, so maybe that has something to do with it too.

    Almost

I never really got all the W(TA) hate. I really like at least half of the songs on it...which is more than I can say about most albums out there. Wilco (The Song) - Fun and a really sweet sentiment to fans which I appreciate. One Wing - has become one of my favorite Wilco songs and the most played song on my iPod. Bull Black Nova - intense and gets me anxious every time I hear it. Any song that can place you (emotionally) in the story is pretty powerful if you ask me. Country Disappeared - Love this song and the Take Away Show video of it too. Solitaire - sweet, tender and beautiful song. I'

  8. ...as a fellow restaurant world person, I appreciate this story a lot.
  9. ...and that it was featured at Wilco's Solid Sound Festival
  10. That guy is awesome. Love him. I've got a bottle in the fridge. Haven't tried it yet though.
  11. If this is true, it would be fantastic. I was having anxiety that it wouldn't continue for some reason.
  12. From The Atlantic: A month ago, Wilco's second Solid Sound Festival brought music fans to the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art—or Mass MoCA—for an event that was part rock-concert marathon, and part interactive art experience. Called "an antidote to big-name destination festivals" by the Hartford Courant, Solid Sound has been praised for offering a low-key, intimate, and off-beat experience. Filmmaker Kevin Michael Kertscher of Indigo Studios was there, capturing the highlights. Below, the sights and sounds of weekend, with Wilco singer Jeff Tweedy and others discussing the philoso
  13. Agree. Looks great and the old book mark still works. Thanks so much.
  14. Just discovered this guy Blasty's You Tube channel. Great stuff there... tons of clips of the last time I saw Westerberg. Irving Plaza in New York, '96. Great show. ps. I'm sure it's obvious but I can't figure out how to embed the video.
  15. Bon Iver Hanging out in the only cool room in the house. Totally diggin this.
  16. I would plan on going even if you don't get tickets. Sitting outside in Central Park you can hear the show pretty well and it's still a great way to spend a fall night in NYC. Good luck on getting some tickets though.
  17. I read somewhere that the end of the song was supposed to represent what a migraine is like. I suffer from migraines and for a long time before they were diagnosed, I used to just deal with them, try to make it through the day, go to bed if I could...whatever. So I spent a few years living with and experiencing the intensity of migraines. So anyway, I find that part of the song interesting. Edit: Also I really like the beginning of the song. Speaks to me of atheistic ideas.
  18. I agree. I love to listen to it. It's a beautiful song...and sometimes I listen all the way through even if my pets look at me funny.
  19. 1. When was the first time that you heard Wilco's music? 2. When was the first time you saw Wilco in concert? I'll start: 1. I first heard A.M. when a co-worker brought the CD in to the NYC restaurant where we worked to play for the lunch crowd. 2. My boyfriend at the time was from Chicago so we went for a visit during the Taste of Chicago in 1996. Paul Westerberg was playing for free at the bandshell in Grant Park and Wilco was playing right before him. Since I had heard A.M. at work, we decided to go early to check them out. There were only about 50 people in the crowd that day. We
