I guess that's true. We might just all walk off into the night in a hazy fog if they closed with that. But I really hope that if they do play the song people will be respectful and quiet. It IS a mood setter and I'm glad it's as long as it is. It takes a bit but then it pulls you in.

I'll never tell....but also, I've already pre-ordered so I'm still a good person. Also I'm curious is it junkie's mile or junkie smile?

I'm hoping for opening with Art of Almost and ending with One Sunday Morning. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I'm seeing both shows in NYC and then taking a vacation in Spain in November and catching 2 more shows along the way. This may be a bit too much but I couldn't be stopped.

I didn't see that but I looked back and didn't see any confirmation that they were the official lyrics. The "I heard a faint ole'" part doesn't seem right to me. We'll see in due time. In any case. This song is so great. I hope they open with this in Central Park....and then end with One Sunday Morning.

Was supposed to be going to see the Flaming Lips tonight in Long Beach, NY but the promoters cancelled the show

Absolutely. So many times a song changes when you see it live or with amazing video footage and the DVD does this for Ashes in a beautiful way. In that same vein, I didn't really get the beauty of Country Disappeared until seeing this gorgeous video. Now, as you'll see above, it has made it into my top 10 list.

Band lead singers you met? Friendly, not friendly? Impressions?

I met (well, not as much met as served) a few musician back when I had a cafe in the East Village in NYC. Michael Stipe - Very quiet. I remember he went outside alone to squat on the sidewalk and have a cigarette...squatting the whole time. I wondered what it would have been like for a fan to have passed by, seeing this guy squatting in a doorway on an East Village street smoking a cigarette and then realize it was Michael Stipe. Mike D - also very quiet, humble and polite. He used to ride his orange banana seat bike and park it out front. Moby - Queit and shy. I don't really remember mu -
I get mine museum mounted. It's just on foam core. No frame, no glass, no glare. Works for me.

Indeed. Me too...and the silkscreen demo was pretty cool too.

It's kind of interesting to me that whenever you ask Wilco fans to name their favorite Wilco songs the answers are all over the place. Recently, I was reading a similar thing where Radiohead fans listed their favorite Radiohead songs. They are all more or less in agreement over their top 10 songs. I don't know what that means. It just strikes me how diverse the lists can be for Wilco songs. So, anyway. Not than anyone cares or needs to know, this is my list (today) in no particular order. I'm including two songs from the new album, because I'm obsessed. The Lonely 1 Misunderstood Sunken Tr

This line kills me: What I learned without knowing How much more that I owe than I can give -
Okay, so we are allowed to like the photo as long as we don't talk about it?

I laughed pretty hard about your comment. The hair is looking pretty wig-ish.

One Sunday Morning (Song For Jane Smiley's Boyfriend)
-seven replied to ViaBuffalo's topic in Just A Fan
I thought using her name was maybe a comment on the irony of having meaningful conversations with someone that you barely know and can't even remember their name afterwards. Or maybe it's about how a person who has a close relationship with someone who has some amount of fame is often referred to by their relationship to that person and not as an individual themselves. ex. Jane Smiley's boyfriend rather than Bob Jones. (I have no idea what his name is, BTW) Having spent many years in the restaurant business, I know that I've referred to many people by what they ate or drank. One regular cust -

as intimate as a kiss over a phone - I love this line.

No, unfortunately. I do love your city though. We've been there before but have always wanted to check out San Sebastian so we opted to go there instead this time. Can't wait.

We're all getting old. I think the weirdness has more to do with the fisheye lens than anything. That and everyone looks like they need a nap.

Are people still waiting for their NYC Central Park tickets?
-seven replied to dmhphoto's topic in Just A Fan
I got an email too. They are coming by 2nd Day Air. No wonder the damn fees were so high. -
What's your font? (sounds like a pickup line!)
-seven replied to Queen Amaranthine's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
There are some times when Comic Sans is just right. I think all replies from here forward should be posted in the font of which you refer. Just an idea. I did it up there on my post but I'm sure it was barely noticeable since it's so close to whatever this board uses (arial?)
