  1. I hope this shows up somewhere soon. Despite the relative sameness of the setlist...Sunken Treasure and Misunderstood together is always a bonus and the encore sounds incredible.
  2. I guess the time spent rehearsing the new stuff will prevent any surprise setlists. I still think Dash 7, Hotel Arizona, Too Far Apart, etc., would be good additions for this lineup.
  3. Thanks. Aside from Sunken Treasure, is anyone else a little disappointed that they're not branching out more on the non-SBS stuff? Not that I wasn't expecting a lot of the standards, it's just that they have so many more songs that could be "standards."
  4. Since my computer at work is craptastic...would anyone mind at least running down the setlist as the songs come up? Thanks in advance.
  5. Damn, I missed Side with the Seeds, how did it sound?
  6. It's funny, because I don't really agree either (especially with a lot of your notable tracks). To each his own, though. I've always thought A.M. gets too little credit and Summerteeth gets way too much praise. For example, the last half of A.M. with Dash 7, Passenger Side, Too Far Apart, Blue Eyed Soul, etc. is excellent. And A Ghost is Born's messiness (or call it "planned chaos") is what makes it so interesting. Sky Blue Sky is still so new, that it's hard to fairly grade it, but I really love it so far. My grades (and these are all relative to Wilco's output only): A.M. - B- Bei
  7. Just don't let anyone say it's wrong.
  8. That's actually a really good review. But I wonder why they're afraid of giving any of the albums since Summerteeth anything higher than 4 stars.
  9. Add me to the number of people surprised at no mention of SBS in the Best Buy ad. Especially since Linkin Park was on two different pages. Although, I was in Target today and they had it on their "Upcoming Releases" stand. Since I've been living and breathing Wilco for the last few years, it's always hard for me to comprehend how little-known they are. Not that it really matters. Just interesting.
  10. While not a SBS virgin, I had taken a vow of abstinence after listening to it for a week after the very first stream. I am anxiously awaiting May 15 like its my wedding night and I'm part of a couple that has decided to wait until then. I don't know, maybe I took the metaphor too far.
  11. You should actually wish you lived in Fort Worth.
  12. It's always interesting to see so many of my favorite songs show up on other people's "worst" lists. I think it's a testament to Wilco's quality that everyone can find something to like best, no matter how different. Here's mine (and I didnt include the new album...no way I can make a valid determination on those songs yet): 1. That's Not the Issue 2. (Was I) In Your Dreams 3. The Lonely 1 4. Can't Stand It 5. Candyfloss
  13. EW.com has a short interview with Tweedy about SBS and other things. It's more of the same, but his story about their first trip to the Grammys is pretty funny. Link
  14. Willie Nelson - Phases and Stages
  15. How are they? I'm really looking forward to that album.
  16. I disagree with you on Side with the Seeds. For me, it's becoming an all-time favorite and that mostly has to do with Nels, especially on the first solo. I also can't ever seem to get Either Way out of my head after hearing it (in a good way). It is one of the weaker openers, but now you're comparing it to Misunderstood, IATTBYH, and ALTWYS. I think it fits the album pretty well. I agree with you about Glenn. I really tried to listen for him on the headphones one night, and I concluded that maybe a better quality version of this album will highlight what he's doing, because it's more th
  17. My math shows Bennett as a 38.46% contributor on the music, and a negligible impact on lyrics. Explain to me again how he should be considered a chief songwriter. Thanks.
  18. I think Orkie is Jay. Although I'm not sure which one yet
  19. I would have to agree with the falsing of the falsing of the false. I think.
  20. I've been on my own mini-marathon and completely agree with you on YHF. Although I never tire of hearing how great it is, I do take it for granted sometimes. Listening to it beginning to end this afternoon gave me the same sense of awe you felt.

    wow

It's always been one of my favorites off BT, too. I listened to AM yesterday and realized that any one of those last three songs could fit in well with a current Wilco show. Especially with Nels on steel.
