  1. That was almost too good of a run...setting up unrealistic expectations. This may seem like a simplistic argument, but I wish they knew how to self-edit better. Providing a glut of material isn't always a good thing. Their last three albums over a three-year span have 47 tracks, a lot of which sound so similar. Cut that down to 30-35 and these albums wouldn't be such chores to get through.
  2. It has been beautiful here in Fort Worth.
  3. I think they both miss each other quite a bit. I haven't liked any of Isbell's solo stuff.
  4. The decline of DBT (at least in my eyes) has been frustrating. There was a time when Wilco and DBT were my two favorites, and the one on top was usually the one I had seen last. The decline of both has been during the same time frame, but DBT has been more worrisome because that encompasses 4 albums of subpar material rather than 2.
  5. Interesting, since there isn't a song on Go-Go Boots a tenth as good as Never Gonna Change, Lookout Mountain, or Goddamn Lonely Love. Of course, any song from Go-Go Boots, if placed on The Dirty South or Decoration Day, would instantly be the worst song on its new album.
  6. I had the same reaction. Haven't gotten around to listening to it again.
  7. TBTD is decent, but Go-Go Boots is the worst album of their career. Even more tired and tedious.
  8. Is there any other way to drink it? Otherwise, why even bother?
  9. So do I need to go home after work and start digging a cave in my backyard? What should I do?
  10. Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears - Scandalous Grails - Deep Politics
  11. It's nice to see them come back strong after their mediocre last album.
  12. It's a song playing in the restaurant.
  13. He was an extremely minority owner. He just helped put the group together and was named CEO.
  14. I actually think it's pretty terrible. Overearnest and dull. It has been downhill since Leaders of the Free World.
  15. I won't miss it for that very reason.
