  1. I went to the iPod Touch when it first came out, which is only 16 GB. I exceeded that limit a long time ago, since I'm hovering around a total of 120 GB in my music library. It doesn't take too long to get used to not having your entire library at your fingertips. In fact, it's kind of liberating. Get creative with playlists and you might find it to be easier to music to listen to, instead of being overwhelmed by having everything on there (at least, that's how I felt). It just takes a little more time and work to sync your iPod and pick and choose what to load on to it. And I back up
  2. Wow. I thought Infinite Arms was great. I definitely enjoy listening to that and Everything All the Time more than Fleet Foxes' debut.
  3. That was about as satisfying as an opening series can get.
  4. I only looked at the new releases for this past Tuesday and noticed a couple of albums there that I couldn't find on Rhapsody. I get the most use out of the offline play feature, which is the source of my frustration with the Rhapsody app. I'm anxious to see how Rdio's compares.
  5. After a magical season, it feels like the Rangers are right back where they usually are. Incredible lineup, big questions in the rotation and in the bullpen. I would have liked to see them stick Feliz in the rotation, but I do have confidence in Derek Holland becoming a solid #3. Tommy Hunter is starting the season on the DL, but the way he tailed off after the All-Star Break has me wondering if he won't eventually be moved to the bullpen anyway. Best case scenario has Brandon Webb ready to go in June, but I'm not overly optimistic. Having Feliz in the bullpen does help anchor that part
  6. I'm going to give this a try. The Rhapsody app has been really frustrating to me. Do you use Rdio mainly on your PC or do you also use the iPhone/Android apps? A quick look at Rdio's site showed a selection as good, if not better, than Rhapsody's. So I am intrigued.
  7. I'm anxious to try it, I'm just not sure how much I would use it. For one, I worry about draining my phone battery (I don't mind carrying a phone and an iPod). I also rotate the music I listen to so frequently, that unless the storage space was significant, it would be too much of a pain to be constantly deleting and uploading music. I read that Google is beta-testing something with their employees. And Apple, of course, is building their server home and reportedly working on cloud-based applications. Amazon also released this without clearing licensing rights with the labels. I'm not
  8. That doesn't mean they are scarce. I would argue that the demand for tickets at a given show is nearly equivalent to the number available. However, when ticket brokers buy up tickets to sell at a higher price, that creates artificial demand. With limited and regional releases of records, the demand far exceeds the availability, thus creating a scarcity. For instance, I would like the Yeasayer 7". But it is limited to 900 copies, meaning the likelihood of it even being available at my store is remote. The nature of the release creates the demand. Someone buying it at another store and s
  9. Tickets are only scarce commodities once brokers snatch up handfuls of them to sell at a higher price. Therefore, they are actively engaged in the process of creating the scarce commodity. These Record Store Day releases are nowhere near the same thing. They are already limited in number and availability. Someone who buys one to sell online is not creating the scarcity. It's built in to these items already.
  10. Not really. The limited and regional releases of a lot of this stuff creates a lot of demand that is driven by the people actively seeking those things out. Ticket brokers, on the other hand, create the scarcity themselves then artificially drive up the prices.
  11. If you don't give it your full attention, I can see how it could fall into that category. That was probably my problem initially. But it is definitely a rewarding listen if you focus on it. NP:
  12. It took a few listens, but this is starting to click for me.
  13. I agree. EDIT: Plus, it was used perfectly on Kanye's album.
  14. I'm really looking forward to hearing it. One of the more anticipated albums for me this year.
  15. According to his website, I think there are only limited edition CDs that he sells at shows. Otherwise, it's download or vinyl.
  16. No, the story. I only recently read about it. The song is definitely one of Patterson's best.
  17. By the way, unrelated to Go-Go Boots, I can't listen to "Two Daughters and a Beautiful Wife" anymore. When he sings "Maybe everyday is Saturday morning," I lose it every time.
  18. Well, BTCD is only 5 minutes longer than The Dirty South. I just think that as the material has gotten weaker, they need to discriminate a little more. But I'm sure we disagree on the quality of the material.
