  1. But it wouldn't be a DBT album without having too many songs.
  2. A lot of favorites: "What Month Was Jesus Born In?" - The Anita Kerr Singers "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" - Vaughn Monroe "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" - Frank Sinatra "That Spirit of Christmas" - Ray Charles
  3. I'm with you on this. Although, I'm not really sold on the "idea of" them either. For me, a current band that would qualify for this is The Black Keys. On paper, they should work for me more than they actually do.
  4. I still haven't watched any of the episodes I've recorded since the premiere. Should I? Am I missing anything?
  5. The problem, though, in comparing the Oscars to the Grammys is the pool of potential nominees. The world of music is too expansive. At least with the Oscars, most people would still have heard of smaller movies that were nominated. That's not the case with music. It would be one top-seller in a field of nominees that the vast majority of people never knew existed.
  6. Unfortunately, nobody is going to watch a music awards show with nominees that aren't huge sellers or nostalgia acts that the Average Joe knows.
  7. Good to see Suckers on that Paste list.
  8. I started weeding out from my collection a while ago. And I've definitely stopped buying so many movies. I decided to only buy special blu-rays of movies I know I'll watch multiple times. Otherwise, I can just rely on netflix.
  9. My only guess as to why some voters left Wash off was because the AL West was so easy to win this year.
  10. I'm glad I'm not the only one. I don't even go to that site anymore. I'm probably done with emusic, too. I'll probably get a rhapsody membership. For $10/month, I can listen to anything I want to. Seems like a pretty good deal to me.
  11. They always have this sale right before the Christmas buying season starts. I wish I had a little extra money to full take advantage of it.
  12. I've never thought of them as being mutually exclusive. You don't have to enjoy one at the expense of the other.
  13. I look forward to Christmas every year. The season never starts soon enough and always ends too quickly.
  14. We had the combo of a toddler and a big chocolate lab with a destructive tail, but all we did was put all of our unbreakable ornaments on the bottom. The ones made out of wood or plastic or metal.
  15. I'm just happy that the Rangers have great radio and TV guys. Mainly Eric Nadel and Tom Grieve.
  16. I would love to have a real tree, but my wife can't handle them with her allergies. So I've gotten used to it. Also, any Christmas tree either comes from a place like you're describing or a farm. That's why they're planted.
  17. I would love to put the tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving, but we're out of town nearly every year to celebrate with family (with or without the addition of a confusing Christmas tree). We definitely get the Christmas decorations down quickly, though.
  18. I know what you're saying about Fall. I wish we had one here in Texas. Last Christmas was so busy and hectic that we were barely around enough to even enjoy it. We figured that this way all of our decorations will already be up after Thanksgiving, and we'll be able to relax more and take it all in. Plus, now that my daughter is three, she's really into it this year.
  19. With a very busy Christmas season ahead, we decided to put up the tree and get it decorated today. Actually, we have 2 of our 4 trees up. The other one is my daughter's. We'll probably decorate the mantel, put the nativity up, and a few other decorations. This way we can enjoy it for longer instead of worrying about it or running out of time. Anyone else get an early start?
