Archers of Loaf - Icky Mettle

My wife and I were listening to this on a drive around town this evening.

Nah, it almost like you got shit before they even record the damn album. It's like a band or artist has a thought about an album and you're up here within minutes posting about how awesome it is. It's just funny to me. You're usually one of the ones around here who tips me off to new albums.

Don't tell me I schooled you! I found it on a message board I frequent - a 256 rip. I got it the day before I saw them live(2/11), so I've had it for a couple of weeks now.

The acoustic in-store was short, a bit too short if you ask me (only 5 songs). We'll see how good they are tonight.

This leaked a few weeks ago actually. My impression, I read this somewhere else but it's an apt description, is that it's another DBT album. Nothing bad at all: an all-around solid set of songs.

I love that album. It's still my favorite Phoenix album. NP: It took me for freaking ever, but I finally found this CD. The last Mountain Goats album needed for my collection.

Lucero - That Much Further West

Yup, you had better go see them. I try to catch every time they come to town. I'm going to see them twice this up-coming Friday when they come rolling through (once at an in-store and in concert later that night). They put on a heck of a show. I don't much care for their albums but they're great live.

It's actually pretty good album. It's solid but it's also what you would expect from Uncle Bob at this point in the game. No real surprises.

Seeing these guys open for Lucero tonight. Are they any good? What kind of music do they play? NP: ...in preparation for the concert tonight.

So Cow - 2007 - These Truly Are End Times

At this point, the album I think I am most curious/hopeful for is the new Broken Social Scene album. The BSS presents albums were okay and the last BSS album was good, I am just hoping for something great or better this time around.

Foo Fighters - There Is Nothing Left to Lose

Dude, those are two of my all-time favorites.

They have 2 hand-painted LP's of Joseph Arthur at the local record store. Should I buy these and sell them on ebay? I am only sort of kidding. Are they Rare? It says limited edition of 200 on the package.

Best Coast - Something in the Way EP

The new songs sounded great last night. My ears are still ringing and I can't hear crap.

I read, as recently as last week, that the Shins are indeed going to record a new album (this year?) but not before he records another Broken Bells album.
