I am always up in the air between S+E and CrCr. Both are so fantastic, I cannot choose which is my favorite anymore.

Cool, it's good to see other S.C. folks on here finally!

I'm digging it here and there. It's not my favorite by far though. I have spend more time with it. It's in my truck's cd player, so it'll get a fair shake. That said, I don't think I've heard a bad album that has been released this year (although, I've heard only about 15 albums or so).

+ I found a promo copy of the Handsome Furs in a local record store. I was happy.

My wife got our Asheville tickets today. I'm not sure what the seats are though. I do remember her saying "AA" though. God, I hope that's up front! If not, I don't care they haven't played A-ville since 2005! It'll be my wife's first Wilco show! Edit: Oh no, we got like MZC row MM seat 17. That sorta blows a donkey dong.

Well, it was a short, but sweet show - it was an in-store taping for a local radio station. He and another dude played about 6-7 songs acoustic. It was great, I just wished it was longer. Mainly stuff from the new record. I fully admit I am not all that familiar with his solo records even though I have them. From what I remember he played Cigarettes and Wine, & Streetlights. He also covered a song (Will Johnson? I dunno).

New Conor Oberst "solo" record -- "Outer South"
brianjeremy replied to redpillbox's topic in Someone Else's Song
I find his older stuff especially annoying, but later Bright Eyes (with the exception of Cassadaga) and his solo record are great. I am really excited about the new disc because the last one was stellar, in my opinion. -
Going to see him live in about an hour!

It was either my first or second SY album (the other being washing machine), thus it holds a special place in my musical heart. Other than Daydream and Murray Street, I listen to it more than the other SY albums. I was actually shocked to find out that a lot of people really didn't dig it.

I agree 100%. Son Volt Mach I is way better than Mach II.

From what I read it all came down to money. I.e., they wanted a bigger piece of the pie.

Oh my dear lord, it's slow again! What flippin' gives!: EDIT: Okay, after slowly making my way through the ordering process, I got these albums: Hitchcock - I Often Dream of Trains, Black Snake Diamond Role, Element of Light Apples in Stereo - New Magnetic Wonder I may order some more Hitchcock stuff before the sale ends. I have intended to get some of his albums since I saw the Venus 3 two years ago.

Found a vinyl copy on Saturday for a cool $10.

Me too. I was in the middle of ordering some albums and it just quit working!

Agreed with the consistent comments. Sonic Nurse didn't do a lot for me but Murray Street is seriously one of my favorite SY records.

I bought their first LP when it was released and then Fuckin' A, but didn't pick up anything else. I got a copy of their last album about a month or so ago and was blown away. They just slipped out of my musical conscience. NP:

I saw the p-fork review. I really agree with a lot of the critique of Pollard music since his post-GBV days. Yet, the review of the actual album, was dead wrong in my opinion. I find his music actually improving lately. I dunno, I just think it was a bad review. As for a 2.8 rating, I can think of a couple of Circus Devils albums that would get less in my book.
