It's really great. I love it to death. I hope it gets a proper release.

I am sorry that he needs a transplant and everything but doesn't he rape children? -
BOOOOO! Great game though. The Giants deserved that one. Now, my Panthers have to wrap up that no. 2 seed.

April feels so sleepy to me. I listen to it when I nap sometimes.

I like the Spaceship's album more than Off to Business. It's sounds more like the Pollard we used to know. I agree with the P-Fork review of the album where they say that he's moved on from his Earthquake Glue prog fascination/hold-up. Sounds like he's having fun. The first track that's available from his new records sounds really good and different to my ears and that is a good thing.

I honestly don't see how one of the indies in town stays open. There is never anybody there and their selection is way under-developed when compared to the other indie store in town selection (not as many cd's and now, not so many records). They have a lot of Jazz and folk stuff - a true niche store. I was in there on Saturday and it was just desolate. I feel sorry for them but their prices are higher than the other indie store, they've not changed in the six years I've lived here, etc. I'm not sure they'll be around this time next year. The other store has diversified their selection

The Decemberists sing about Valerie Plame

But it can be argued that the dichotomy between the serious and not so serious is what they do best. I feel a lot of their music is sort of tongue in cheek. That push and pull makes things so interesting. I think if you're thinking about it too academically, and the Decemberists through their presentations may be asking for that, you may be thinking too much about it. I think they are having fun being serious but not taking it too serious sometimes. On one end of the spectrum, the serious-side for example, you can take a band like Joy Division and try to listen to their music. After a -
After my initial "I'm not gonna get it phase," I broke down and bought it a few weeks back. I actually am liking the album. the first half is so much better than the back half. I'm interested in hearing the other songs.

This song was played and our wedding as well. We didn't dance to it but my wife loves it. We listened to it maybe 50 times on our honeymoon. Trace was one of those albums that I'll never forget when I first heard it. I still think Trace is their best by a long shot - the new stuff just isn't up there.

I actually like the new singles better than I did the Crane Wife. The "I'm Sticking with you" cover is the only one I really don't care for but I dig the rest of the singles. -
Mine hasn't arrived yet. I hope it gets here today... EDIT - yep, still not here.

Wow, the Panthers are beating the Bucs with 2 minutes left! I'm a Panthers fan that doubted their chances tonight - I've been saying all week that they would lose but...two more minutes! EDIT - woot! woot! We won!!! What a nice surprise!

I feel the same way. It's such a great album. I've been listening to it non-stop.

Anyone see The Smashing Pumpkins?
brianjeremy replied to guitargeek85's topic in Someone Else's Song
To my ears Gish has aged better than MCIS and SD, although SD is still pretty darn good. Billy has frustrated and confused fans of the band to the point of alienation. That's too bad because when Billy is "on" and focused on the music he can really put something together that can be great. Yet, he constantly worries about making some thing great that turns out to be mediocre or just plain bad. That's the biggest disappointment to me - that he can't keep his ego/ambition in check. Anything new that Billy has to say, I'm just not interested anymore. It sucks because I used to be the -
Every time I listen to this album, I can't help but think "god, these guys were so great." It's almost like I forget it (because of their later day music?) but every time I spin it, I'm floored.

Just now listening to it. I'm always in favor of Jay and an acoustic. This is just so unexpected. I'm hoping he's starting to work his stuff out.
