Need to get my Paul in before it's bedtime...

Pavement is the only band I really, really, really wish would reunite. Oh, and the Neutral Milk Hotel but that will never happen.

I didn't do the BEGN program the last time around and I wasn't gonna miss it this time. It sounds really cool. I never gave BTC much of a chance, although it had some great songs on it. I'm really looking forward to the next reissue though. Terror Twilight is my least favorite album. So maybe seeing it in a different light will help me changed my mind. I still dig Carrot Rope. Plus, there were no Spiral Stairs songs on it. It will be interesting to see if some of the Preston School demos end up on it.

I think it's his best since the Keene Brothers album. It has stirred a resurgence of GBV music in the house. I read somewhere that they've already got their second record in the can and the third one is in the demo stages. This isn't surprising but more power to Uncle Bob.

A good rainy day album...

Yeah, no joke! Sounds great to me too. A lot of people like Is Off..., but I am only luke-warm to it. I just can't get into it that much. This one sounds pretty straight-forward lo-fi indie rock. I don't like the more experimental tracks on his albums and this one seems to be missing those tracks. He just needs to make tighter albums...and stop working with Todd Tobias as a producer. He needs some fresh air. He's recorded like 10+ straight albums with him? Enough's enough! NP:

I listen to Is the Actor Happy more these days. One reason I got into Vic was the song "Bug" from West of Rome because it's about my very small hometown in SC, Walhalla. In the song he incorrectly identifies the "hotel full of Pakistanis" when they are actual Indian. One of the "greasy, greasy grannies" is actually my aunt, who worked at the run-down motel in Walhalla. The detail in the song is so great...

West of Rome is a great album. He's playing with Elf Power on this tour in support of their upcoming album. Both a great live. I'd check 'em out and plan to once they tour the states in the fall/winter.

Looked all around at the local stores and they haven't got it yet! So...I'm right now in the process of ordering it from Merge, plus a cool Merge hoodie and shirt. -
