  1. I'm just having a Burton/Thomas moment now. Bible black etc.
  2. Good. Hope he doesn't clash with Amadou & Mariam. In other news - Cat Power is at the roundhouse in November. Possibly my fave of the year so far, but I'm wary of her flaky live performances, so I probably would not go. And Sufjan Stevens is at the Barbican but already sold out. Both may be indicative of wider tours for those who are interested.
  3. Get the psycho-analyst in here pronto
  4. I would for sure. I think BBH knows more. All the songs I know I love, plus a few covered by other people.
  5. The Vicar of Dibley So-so for me Jonathan Creek After all the talk of Coupling in that other thread, I would recommend the following for UK comedy buffs:- Smack The Pony Phoenix Nights Shameless Green Wing Nighty Night and, of course, The Mighty Boosh And for an oldie
  6. I'm more of a Champions man myself (Sharron ) http://www.thechampionsfan.homestead.com/ I also came across an original Star Trek episode on TV over the weekend that I had never seen before. I woul dhave betted that I had seen them all. I don't think I have ever sat through a whole episode of any of the many follow up attempts.
  7. The "Lost" of its day I suppose. I have now lost track and given up on "Lost" - mid second season here.
  8. Found this from her messageboard from a show in March that was also with Mary Ann Kennedy and Pam Rose (provide instruments and backing vocals). There is a show in Ireland on the 28th so that would be the best bet to getting an idea. The Nashville warmup had some stuff not on this list. I don't know if there will be any changes since it is a 'folk' festival. More bluegrass? Who knows. (Richard Thompson is also getting great feedback recently - are you seeing him Friday/Saturday?)
  9. You haven't? It's atmospheric, but I never really sat down and watched it when they repeated it all a couple of years ago. There are some weird theories about what it is all supposed to mean. I've been to Portmeirion (North Wales) where it was filmed. http://www.the-prisoner-6.freeserve.co.uk/...ner_updates.htm http://www.sixofone.org.uk/general.htm
  10. Yeah, I agree - necrophilia has it's downsides.
  11. So did I I am, however, secure in my own sexuality. Honest.
  12. Yes, personally I find the whole business gets a bit messy during a heavy downpour, don't you?
  13. Good plan. All newlyweds should keep their energy levels up!
  14. The old one seems to have dropped past the cutoff point ... First fixture list I've seen for the coming year. http://www.cardiffblues.com/index.cfm?meth...sectiondataid=1 All Blacks peaking too soon before the World Cup again? I did see France v South Africa a few weeks ago and they did look like they could beat the All Blacks at home. That was before it was clear how poor South Africa are, but I still fancy France next year.
  15. http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/networks/ra..._laurelandhardy Radio 2 tribute to Laurel and Hardy And later today:- http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/artofpop/pip/ck3c8/ Jarvis Cocker explores the connections between British art schools and pop.
  16. Also, for those who will be playing along at home:- http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/events/cambridge2006/ Some TV coverage over the weekend too - see earlier post somewhere above.
  17. She got good coverage in a couple of other broadsheets over the weekend. Same sort fo stuff as the article above, but a few good quotes. Meanwhile, you should be in for a good set at Cambridge Rich.
  18. If Hasselhoff is anything to go by, he's got a long sequence of TV appearances and album success stretching out ahead of him in Germany.
  19. Good comedy is all about timing. That's like the only bit from Dumb and Dumber that made me laugh - the snowball fight with his girlfriend from point blank range. Nice review - thanks!
