1 is Duran Duran - Rio 5 is Echo And The Bunnymen - Songs To Learn And Sing Any brownie points I earn for the latter (God knows how I remembered that - just the shape of the guys neck reminded me of them) are cancelled out by knowledge of the former. I liked New Moon On Monday, but that was about it. I have never owned either, I was just around at the time. I do really like Echo and the Bunnymen though.

One of my favourite sporting memories is watching Nastase play Connors at Bournemouth in a Wimbledon warm up grass court tournement. This must have been in the late 70s. I must have been ill and home from school or something. They were having a lark most of the time, being good friends, and then it started to bucket down with rain. I had a 'coq sportif' track suit years ago, at an age when it provoked sniggers. I think they still kit out the French team. Certainly the most famous French sports brand.

First time I ever clapped eyes on Wilco. It was shown on the BBC years ago. I had interests in Guthrie and BB. Bingo!

Was it still popular when Sampras was playing? My interest waned before that when power became dominant over artistry. Federer has some fantastic strokes I will admit, but just watching McEnroe (post early brat years) or Nastasie doing subtle things with the head of the racket as the shots were played was sublime. And the heads of the rackets were so much smaller! And people like Connors and Nastiasie seemed to have much more fun on court. That's a general change in most sports I suppose.

The usual sign of a bad injury is that the player doesn't wriggle very much. That's what's so farcical about most of it.

Do you refer to Arkansas Traveller? That's a great album. Also the first time I heard a note played made by JT - though I didn't know it at the time. I arrived there via the similar connection to the Hothouse Flowers.

BBC, via Zidane's agent apparently, was saying unspecified comment regarding his mother. Zidane didn't tell his agent exactly what it was. The thing is, he must have had alot of sledging before. You only have to go to a park and watch a pub side to hear all that goes on. Don't know why he would snap with all his experience. Still I say: should have got him in the head. Just once I would like to see an Italian who is actually injured. It might improve the acting skills of the rest of the team to see the real thing first hand.
