  1. "I moved away from Wales as a young man, but I have been drifting back over the years. It's quite horrible sometimes, the intangible sense of something calling you, and not knowing what it is." I hear you brother!
  2. Heard some in the car on the radio at the weekend. Almost had to pull over. Seering! Do you like salt and pepper on your hat
  3. Don't always like them, but always respect the Manics. Plus they're part of the Taffia of course.
  4. Brimful of Asha - Cornershop "Everybody needs a bosom for a pillow" (From the Fatboy Slim Greatest Hits thing. Bought for the above and the Groove Armada remix and 'Demons' mainly)
  5. Was in Cardiff last weekend. Was not at this show. While I was there I found out that the filmed meeting of BD and Johnny Cash where Bob Dylan sings I Still Miss Someone at a piano occurred backstage at the Capitol Theatre, Cardiff. Now demolished. 1. Maggie's Farm 2. She Belongs To Me 3. Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum 4. Positively 4th Street 5. Stuck Inside Of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again 6. Love Sick 7. Watching The River Flow 8. Ballad Of A Thin Man 9. Absolutely Sweet Marie 10. Girl Of The North Country 11. Cold Irons Bound 12. Don't Think Twice, It's All Right 13.
  6. Looks that way Edit: they are threatening from time to time, but Brazil are cutting their offside trap defence to ribbons.
  7. Looks like I can get to hear more stuff for free on my doorstep at work, though there's only James Brown and Randy Newman that I would be interested in. Think I'll wander over lunchtime in case there's a sound check too. http://www.towermusicfestival.co.uk/festiv...tting/index.htm
  8. And your point is? Very dull last night. Both teams too scared of losing. Lets hope Brazil and Ghana go at it hammer and tongs today.
  9. An Italian dives and wins a penalty. They win with the last kick of the game. Terrible outcome.
  10. The red plague continues. A straight red for a wanton piece of Italian defending (though in truth not that bad). Are Italy going to blow up in a big tournament again?
  11. I am disappointed that a shoulder-barge no longer seems to be allowed. The other player just has to fall over to gain a free kick. As far as I am concerned, side to side upper body contact (i.e. not obvious blocking) when going for a ball should be legitimate and allow the stronger player to gain some advantage.
  12. Australian just booked for swearing at the ref. Old national characteristics die hard The Aussies just need to hang on long enough for Italy to start getting jumpy and self-destruct.
  13. If you're very lucky I'll wear it when I come up to Cambridge.
  14. Wow, needs a good attitude from the artist to even bother to carry on in those circumstances. I don't know if I'd feel more embarassed (on their behalf) than them though.
  15. I am now wearing my 'roo costume in a gesture of support for the men in yellow. I'm finding the pouch comes in very handy for spare change, library books, etc.
  16. Jay Farrar radio from http://www.jayfarrar.net/av/index.htm
  17. Well, I have the Welsh desire for poetry and flair in sporting performance. Better for Wales to loose heroically playing as a free spirit than grind out a dismal win (and therefore as a semi-neutral I can't get behind England when they are so dull to watch).
  18. He is playing on Friday 15 September at Austin City Limits Music Festival Not that it's near you, but Americans have a different scale of near and far to us, so perhaps you would consider travelling to it?
  19. In truth the Dutch guy involved should be banned for being such a big girl over the incident. I missed the England game - was on the M4 at the time, though it seems I did not miss much. At this rate, even if they continue to win, it's not a team I feel like celebrating - world cup winners should play inspirational football. The draw has worked out nicely for my Ukrainian boys!
  20. Songs I remember are listed below - Wasn't there from the begining as I was playing tennis. There were a couple of songs with a country flavour that must be from his current album when I arrived. Moondance Down The Road Have I Told You Lately - in a sort of bouncy/rollicking Fats Domino style Bright Side of the Road A couple of others I recognised but can't remember now. A nice mix of styles from the country to lounge jazz to NewOrleans jazz to the soulful. Great backing band and singers. Nice appreciative audience. The overall sound was a bit quiet, but the vocals were to the fore in the
  21. Nice review. Your traffic updates always make me laugh. Are you the sort who freaks out about being late? I still don't think I have ever heard anything by him (I don't intentionally avoid him, honest), but your one woman crusade certainly means I know his name now
  22. A live Boot Donna sent me a while back just so I could hear some of the latest Wilco tunes. If On and On and On is not on the new album I may have to boycott it. Followed by Nebraska - Bruce
