  1. Oh yes. One of the'new songs' and quite possibly my favourite of the night too. Muller: I am led to believe that The Album show on E4 late tonight has a Jenny Watson live song performance if that is any comfort. Also, I think they have recorded a Later with JH spot. She did mention being there with Eddie Vedder. I thought this was from some time ago, but what do I see for the new series of Later (and rumoured elsewhere on the net):- Friday 5th May, BBC2, 11.35pm Pearl Jam, Corinne Bailey Rae and The Zutons are among the acts appearing on the first show of the new series. More details will
  2. Also. I have just remembered what the whoo-oooo bit from the 'days of the week song' reminded me of:- Spanish Stroll by Mink Deville. A nice one hit wonder here.
  3. Hoping something even better will come up. With pleasure Jenny Lewis stand up comedy routine report: 50% (1) So, this dyslexic walks into a bra ... (2) Too bad to bother repeating.
  4. Muller: It was rubbish (if that makes it easier to miss). Everyone else: It was fantastic. It's been a while since I have been to a show where I didn't already have an emotional connection with an artist and their music i.e. I don't go to that many shows. I really like her latest album (possibly the only album released this year I've yet bought if I remember - though Emmylou is on order), but that 'link' was not in place. That changed last night. A great show. Nice variation in pace during the set. High energy at times without needing to be over loud (all other performers please note! - so
  5. I can't see photobucket at work, so I'm guessing that it's either our wonderful flag, or an inflatable sheep. (Has he really got some Welsh inside him?)
  6. Oh yeah - that too: it changes as the psot count grows, plus some people have nicknames set by the Admins.
  7. I did remember what you said about Here I Am. It was a hard job, but that's what grabbed me when skimming last night. Also, Rich (W), if you see Cerys on the Saturday ask her if she's sticking around to watch Emmylou the next day (who wouldn't). We should do an imprompu Calon Lan or something.
  8. 9. I'd say A 'Ghost' show is one whose setlist draws primarily on that latest studio album. For 'cherry ghost', that's up to your interpretation of the lyric. There was a thread about it once - you may be able to find it in the archives. I just let those sort of things swirl in my own head, without seeking out a definitive 'answer'. Only years and years later (and usually only with someone like the Beatles) would I actually be interested in finding out the real inspiration for a song lyric. Edit: found it http://archive.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=10604&st=0 Not strictly that usef
  10. Carlos Monkey t-shirts are the answer! (What was the question again?)
  11. If it's this one it wouldn't be close to my mix. Maybe 3 or 4 tracks would overlap.
  12. I'll let you know if the ticket comes through and the trains don't make sense. I might just do you an Emmylou mix too - what have you got? I think I must about 8 - 10 of her albums.
  13. Possible? - depending on late train times - I did some provisional searches and alot of places did seem to be booked up then. Don't know if that's just Cambridge in summertime (and it's lot smaller than I thought) or that weekend particularly gets advance bookings.
  14. Great minds ... Rock'n'roll is 99% perspiration, and 1% inspiration, or something. Waterproof denim - who knew?
  15. Please forward to that women from Black Eyed Peas: it is possible to rock out hygenically after all.
  16. What she said. My first post here was to ask about whether I should go and see Wilco in London and come out of virtual gig-going retirement a few years ago. No regrets!
  17. This might help until America wakes up:- http://archive.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=11590&st=0 From what I have gathered it is a spectacular setting (on the edge of a gorge), but can get very very hot. http://mobarrett.net/photos/misc/shows/200...5_28_Sasquatch/
  18. I wonder if the abyss is more scary in high definition now
