Today I did some reading into Charles Whitman, the Austin clock tower sniper. Prior to this, I knew nothing about the man and the circumstances surrounding his actions. Come to find out his motivations MAY have been caused by a brain tumor. Charles himself was baffled by his thoughts, rage and actions, according to his writings and suicide note. What an entirely sad situation for everyone involved.

I have a bunch of big trees surrounding the house so tv reception for some channels can be spotty or non existent. We don't get CBS at all and NBC only if we try real hard.

one of the benefits of not having cable tv for the last 20 years is never having to know who or what a Billy Bush is until just the other day.

You mean like Russian hackers messing with the vote?

Isnt it a recognized notion that if Nader didn't run, Gore would've won? Man, imagine what a different world we'd live in today if that spoiled brat wasn't selected by the Supreme Court

"Buzzard". An odd film. I laughed some and was confused at the end.

Its nice to see the Poster Children back at it. Saw them back in the early 90s a half dozen times or so. Surprised they didn't get a bigger following.

Loves me some Uncle Frank! Same with George Jones Talkin' Cell Phone Blues....brilliant tunes.

"The Girls" by E. Cline. Fifty pages in, its a slow start. She better start getting to some witchy stuff soon or I'm bailing.

"Deliverance" by James Dickey. Seriously, this is a wonderful piece of literature.

Omarosa (sp??) said that when Trump wins, all those who opposed him will bow before him (or something like that). That sounds vaguely threatening.

Regarding the intense hatred of HRC, I just don't understand it. I've been voting since 1988, have read newspapers (sometimes up to 3, including the WSJ) daily since I was 12 years old. I consider myself an informed voter. Yes, Hillary isn't perfect but the level of hatred spewed at her for over 20 years defies my comprehension. What has she really done to deserve that spite? When she's elected, emergency rooms across the nation better be overstaffed because conniption fits and heart attacks are going to spike.

C'mon Atticus, you know you want it.

I'm not saying we need to be complacent but if you consider that Trump barely has any campaign ground operations (even in battle ground states) and has no chance in winning over Blacks, Hispanics, most women, educated people and even some staunch conservatives. And now with the debates coming up, I feel confident that America is going to come out just fine with Hillary on top.

That's my take too Stewie. Side note, I was pretty sure that Lil' Georgie killed the GOP. Turns out, its Trump. I don't mind being off base on this because Trump truly is pounding a stake thru the heart of the GOP. Fascinating and satisfying to watch.

Touch Heads could be pretty obvious, even back then.

Oh yeah, 10-12-68 is great. Good clean recording, super high energy.

Today I'm thinking about how much I enjoy the musical stylings of Patterson Hood.

Finished the first season of "Ash vs Evil Dead" last night. Holy hell, that couldn't have been any better. Cant wait for season two.

Listened to a few recent releases of Neil's over the past week or two. "Storeytone" was darn near unlistenable. Rock/folk/whatever should never ever ever cross paths with an orchestra. Cripes, what a dog. "Earth" on the other hand is pretty darn good. I liked how he used the animal noises, especially the crow. My kids found it funny and cool; it perplexed my wife. "Love and Only Love" is quite the jam.
