Wow, that is pretty crazy.
-
Yikes. Wasn't he the DRays opening day starter once? RIP
-
I mean, what is it based on? I'll admit "Stuck Between Stations" sounds like Springsteen a lot, and I think that was a conscious nod. I would also argue "Hostile, Mass" is fairly Springsteen-esque, but other than that, I don't hear it, and especially not on this record.
-
That is Buddy Holly-esque awesome.
-
I bet he hasn't. "Hopefully, we can get hot at home," manager Willie Randolph said after losing to Colorado on Sunday. "We've got the Marlins coming in, [we can] fatten up on them, hopefully, if we start rolling and then L.A. after that...." Lol @ Willie.
-
They have maybe two songs that echo Springsteen in their entire catalogue, and neither of them are on this record.

If you put an egg on Dan Uggla's bat, it would immediately burst into flames.
-
Sarah Marshall was pretty hysterical. It was inconsistent, but man the Dracula stuff alone was worht the price of admission. And Paul Rudd, as usual, stole every scene he was in.
-
So much for that. We made Barry Zito 08 look like Barry Zito 02.
-
God damn, this is a rock and roll band. You just don't hear riffs with this kind of swagger anymore.
-
I have managed to successfully avoid hearing the score of the Marlins game, so I can watch it now on DVR. No commercials! This is such a huge deal because the Marlins are so ubiquitous in the media.

I think the last few years have shown that most GMs are not in their right minds.

Live pitching: Well, he was awesome last year, so I can't see him falling off that much. He's still got an amazing eye, so no matter what, he's going to walk. 44. He was 43 last year. Knees. Yeah, they aren't very good. He was still not even one of the 5 worst LFers last year. The perjury trial is most likely being pushed back to after the season because they probably have to refile charges. Strike that one. How is he a clubhouse cancer? Probable racist Jeff Kent is just about the only player I've ever heard of who had problems with Bonds in the clubhouse? Or is he a clubhouse cancer
-
Well, actually, that is extremely intangible, inasmuch as a player's salary is entirely based on your own perception of his worth. How much is his skill worth? How much is the league's best OBP and 6th best OPS worth to you? He'd probably get about 350 plate appearances from here on out, but even then, I'd give him 5 million for the rest of the year. How much do his distractions take away? Honestly, I don't know. Is it his fault that he was the only Giant last year that was even marginally above average? Their offense is essentially the same this year, mostly because the loss of Bonds was

I would take an Adam Dunn in a heartbeat on the Marlins.

Everyone loves winning. If Barry Bonds joins a team and they go on a 10 game winning streak, everyone will be all smiles. If he joins a team and they go on a 10 game losing streak, everyone will be all grumbles. I've said it numerous times, but didn't Reggie Jackson punch his manager the year they won a World Series? Didn't Jeff Kent and Bonds get into a fight the year they made a world series? Winning breeds chemistry, not the other way around. These are grown men who are paid millions of dollars to play a game. If they play poorly, it isn't because Barry Bonds won't slap five with them.
-
I think his negatives are far (Far, far, far) outweighed by his positives, mostly because I don't believe in the whole chemistry/distraction thing.
-
It's pretty freaking terrific. Like I said, it's going to take a while to absorb the lyrics, but if I'm enjoyign it this much without the lyrics being absorbed, it can only get better.

Work will force me to miss the next two marlins games. My god daughter's baptism will cause me to miss the one on Sunday. Man. Guess I'll do something I've never done before and DVR them and avoid any word about them until I can watch it.
-
Next time you are in Florida, tell them that Orlando is lame and that Miami is better, alright? Side Note: Damn, I still can't believe Bonds isn't playing right now. I would love for the Marlins to sign him and stick him in left field.
-
Oh my, that is spectacular. Weezer is back, children. I really think this is the first Weezer album in a long time that both critics and fans are going to embrace.
-
2 times through, and I'm really liking it. And that solo still fucking rules. That's the type of thing you put on repeat a few times everytime the song comes on.
-
That's alright. Now that I've publicly stated that I think the Marlins are legit, they are going to get swept by the Giants.
-
AND We get Barry Zito next
-
So are the Marlins legit in the eyes of baseball fans everywhere now? Sweeping the top of Arizona's rotation and allowing only 3 runs to the 4th best offense in the league is pretty impressive, especially beating Webb without Hanley. I know I'm starting to believe in them.
