  1. A starting qb's winning percentage means literally nothing to me.
  2. Western Kentucky, ASU, ULM should all be up near the top. I'm actually supposed to be sending the Sports Editor of Arkansas State's studen paper our preseason predictions and 1st and 2nd teamers today. For the record, here's my conference predictions: Men: EAST DIVISION: 1. WKU, 2. South Alabama, 3. FAU, 4.FIU, 5. MTSU , 6. Troy WEST DIVISION: 1. ULM, 2. ASU, 3. New Orleans, 4. North Texas, 5. UALR, 6. ULL, 7. Denver Women: EAST DIVISION: 1. MTSU, 2. WKU, 3. South Alabama, 4. FIU, 5. Troy, 6. FAU WEST DIVISION: 1. UALR, 2. ULL, 3. Denver, 4. ASU, 5. ULM , 6. UNT, 7. New Orleans
  3. Golden Panthers are gonna make some noise in the Sun belt. I'd be ecstatic if they could win the SBC tourney and get a tourney bid.
  4. I'll bite. Take away the rings and make an argument for him even being one of the top 5 of all time. He's definitely not the best quarterback of the past 10 years (probably 3rd best) without the rings, and he definitely didn't win those alone. Marino is the best QB of all time in my opinion, and it pisses me off that people use the no rings argument to say he isn't the best. It's ludicrous.
  5. I'm heart broken. FIU gives up 17 points in the final 5 minutes. Score a TD and 2 PT Conversion in the last minute to tie. Give up a 60 yard KO return to set up a FG with 2 seconds left to lose. The chance to end the the longest losing streak in the nation is dashed because we can't cover kickoffs...
  6. Is Adrian Peterson the best RB in the league already? I believe he just set the single game record.
  7. I continue to be cautiously optimistic about the Panthers. Vokoun looks like a really good goaltender.
  8. I love that even if he's taking part in a noise rock jam, Pat still looks like he should be fronting a 60's pop group.
  9. I expect us to lose, since Shaq doesn't play more than 30 minutes in the regular season, and Wade's still out. This first month is gonna be rough, though it was nice to see Ricky Davis step up last night. But we're gonna need more than 3 players in double figures to make any noise. I'd like to see Smush running the point some, I think he's a decent player, and he might be able to bring some energy when Williams sits.
  10. Is it because he's too good at basketball?
  11. There are, maybe 3 players who are legitimate frontcourt, big-man, scorers right now (KG, Shaq, Yao). And I'd say right now, you'd have to give up a whole lote more to get any of those, because they are at such a premium right now. Kobe's value is relatively low since he's unhappy in LA, this is the type of move you jump at. You are one piece away, and that is a legitimate superstar offensive force. Kobe is the best of those legitimate superstar offensive forces (LBJ is the only other one who is even close), so unless you want to wait a few years for LeBron to be a FA, this is a move they have
  12. I haven't had them in a while, I think I burnt myself outon them in high school. But they are a great easy cheap snack for sure.
  13. Arod will be worth more relative to his contract than Lowell will be, no matter what they end up making.
  14. If not for Wade, you'd be able to say "what has shaq done". So, yeah. Whatever, I hope Kobe stays in the West. The Bulls aren't going to win any titles with the team they have, unless Deng somehow lives up to the unrealistic (and uncalled for) hype Bulls fans have created for him.
  15. I think if they get Kobe they can afford to have Wallace and Thomas playing at the same time, but if they stand pat, those guys should never be on the court together (not to mention Noah, who is a very similar player) unless they have a late lead.
  16. + 1. For as much as Bulls fans hype up Deng, I don't see him as being the type of guy who can lead a team to a championship (and this is with me seeing him mostly during the series of his life against the Heat). To win a title in the NBA, you need at least one great player, and the Bulls didn't have that before this. If this goes through, they have not only a great player, but arguably the great player of the post- Michael pre-Lebron domination (Which should begin soon, maybe this year) era. The public's view of Kobe is kind of like the public's view of A-Rod, except Kobe has 3 titles, s
