  1. As soon as you're born they make you feel small By giving you no time instead of it all Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all A working class hero is something to be A working class hero is something to be They hurt you at home and they hit you at school They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool Till you're so fucking crazy you can't follow their rules A working class hero is something to be A working class hero is something to be When they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years Then they expect you to pick a career When you can't really function you're so f
  2. The crazy thing is your pitching hasn't been as bad as it will be in the near future. John Maine, Oliver Perez, El Duque and Jorge Sosa are all severely outperforming their own abilities, and when they come crashing down, it's going to be ugly.
  3. Amazing. His stuff was just filthy tonight. Did he strike out Graffanino on three straight curves?
  4. So far I've made a couple of trades this year: Josh Willingham and BJ Upton for CC Sabathia and Austin Kearns. Made this trade when Sabathia's peripheral stats were suggesting he'd have a lower ERA than he did. So far, he's been amazing for me. I also made the trade before BJ UPton's avg fell like 60 points. Willingham has been really good, and Kearns hasn't done crap, but I think this was a good trade for me. Last week I traded Johan Santana for Jason Bay and James Sheilds. I did this mostly because I'm not sure I've got a shot to win it all this year, and Santana isn't a keeper for next
  5. I for one am glad there's gonna be no rain. Moisture + walking around all day= destroyed skin. A-man, that article must've been written about my mom...
  6. I'm not sure I'm kidding, and I'm not sure it matters. Thats probably the easiest way to define them along with the numerous other bands with a similar image and sound at the same time. You can call it whatever you want, it doesn't change anything. It's for categorizing purposes.
  7. Thats probably it. Plus Appetite for Destruction is still impossible to top. Man, what a great album.
  8. Yep, definitely no grittiness there. It's funny, for a while I thought the Marlins most gritty play was Alfredo Amezaga who is Mexican, and I thought that may be why we are so bad. Every good team has a useless "gritty" player who is white. Maybe that's what we are missing. We need our own David Eckstein.
  9. I'd like to see a Marlin starter aside from Sergio Mitre pitch well. Kthxbye.
  10. You are VIP, no? I'm going to see where the bleacher seats they have are and I may just do that for the Decemberists and Wilco. I'm not sure, as I would hate to be so far away and excluded, but it may be my best chance to not miss much of either and still not get an awful spot.
  11. I like it alot, but it's not knocking me over like some releases this year. It'll be top 10, but I'm highly doubting it'll be top 5, which is actually amazing.
  12. Dreamer In My Dreams. I almost feel guilty saying that it's my favorite Wilco song because of how fucked up it is.
  13. I'm not sure Jeff's ever written a better song than this one. Falling out the window Tripping on a wrinkle in the rug Falling out of love, dear It hurt much worse when you gave up Just don't tell me which way I oughta run Or what good I could do anyone 'Cause my heart, it was a gun But it's unloaded now So don't bother Climbing up the ladder Breaking my shin on the very first rung Waking up the neighbors It's all right, they understand they're just as dumb And they don't tell me which way I oughta run Or what good I could do anyone 'Cause my heart, it was a gun But it's unloaded no
  14. Strangely, I've been getting into 80's metal alot lately. Can't explain it.
  15. I'm sure it's probably complete shit, but not because it's covers. It's probably shit because it's a heavy metal band that is 20 years past their prime. They were decent for what they did on their first few albums, but they've long since passed being relevant.
  16. Not really. They are like in their 40's and most people aren't interested in their original stuff anymore. Why not record an album of recognizable songs that people won't leave when they play them during their concerts.
  17. I think what I described is a pretty accurate description of awful baseball, regardless of what the Rangers have gone through. I'm not a D-Rays fan, so I don't care one way or the other.' And the Rangers are a pretty easy team to fix, if they stop signing people to ridiculous deals. Get a bunch of ground ball pitchers, good infield defense, and your ballpark will take care of the runs.
  18. Boy, the Devil Rays' bullpen is awful. The Marlins were down 8-2 in the 3rd inning, and are now up 14-8 after 12 straight runs in the last 3 innings. They now have former Marlin shortstop prospect Josh Wilson coming out to pitch. He's not a former Shortstop, mind you. He's a shortstop. But he's coming out to pitch. Because the Devil Rays are atrocious. The Marlins, on the other hand have pitched 5 1/3 innings of relief and only given up one run. I don't want to jinx it, but hello .500.
  19. Well, Wilco hasn't been shy about coming to Florida, as they've been here 3 times in 5 years, so I'm sure they'll be back. I don't know if The Decemberists have ever been to South Florida. I dunno, it'll be hard to decide how to do it. I'll probably go with Wilco...
