  1. How about the finger picked intro?
  2. This new kick they are on of posting every single article that has to do with David Eckstein is hysterical.
  3. It was the lowest ever. Mostly because there are a total of maybe 3 legitimate well known superstars between the teams, one of which flies totally under the radar (Carpenter), one who has the steroid user label in the eyes of a number of people (Pudge), and the other who is probably the best player in the league right now, and has no dirt on him, but is not marketed at all on a national level (Pujols). Add to that the fact that the only player on either team anyone in the media wrote about for the duration of the series was 2 foot 1 barefoot, 40 pounds soaking wet manchild named "Gritdid McG
  4. Really? Like, we're complaining about this? Really?
  5. "Please"? The version from Gumbo Pages doesn't sound right at all, and there is no history of this song ever being tabbed on VC.
  6. Reni, I'm so happy for you! But, I mean... David Eckstein? Really? Thats the best we could do?
  7. The Beatles. Or Cream, if the Beatles aren't available.
  8. Good thing managers manage with their looks, or else the Tigers would be destroying, huh?
  9. Do you really expect much more from a 5 am baseball post?
  10. Tony LaRussa is reason enough to make it illegal for the managers to wear the uniform of their team. How ridiculous does he look with his tight pants, windbreaker, sunglasses and batting gloves. He looks so pathetic...
  11. What happened to the Gary Sheffield who said he'd have a shitfit if the Yankees trades him? I miss him.
  12. Stats are evil. David Eckstein is better than Arod, no matter what you nerds may think. OBS this!
  13. I think it is helped by the production. I think ELT is head and shoulders better on record than live. And Via Chicago is so much better on the record than it ever has been live.
  14. Nels isn't essential to some people.
  15. Probably because Nels is far and away a more inventive guitarist, not to mention a technically more skilled. Jeff realizes this, and realizes that the music is better served by letting Nels take more solos.
  16. I never bought the Loose Fur cd's because nobody around me carries them.
  17. A line up of A-rods would have scored 7.18 runs per game last year, regardless of whether they "hit the ball to right field" or not. Jorge Posada in his best years has created more runs than that only twice. Arod has had two full seasons under that. In terms of Range Factor, Arod was slightly below league average this year. So he's not a great defensive 3rd baseman, but he's not going to kill you. He actually had a slightly higher RF than David Wright this year, for what it's worth. Give me a lineup of ARods at every position and you can take your role players. Also, Jeter's RC/27 thi
  18. Thats ridiculous. You think the Mets would be better off without Wright? No. They wouldn't. And he hits homeruns too! Omg. There are all kinds of teams that could do it. The reds look like the front runners now. Arod met with some high up Reds officials yesterday. I'd say Homer Bailey and Adum Dunn gets it done, though that would be a terrible move for the Reds to make.
  19. "Everyone's favorite whipping boy enters his age 31 season in 2007. The Rangers are covering a large part of his contract, so he's owed $16MM annually through 2010. While it's still huge, Rodriguez at four years, $64MM is a reasonable commitment for a superstar. Even the fairly conservative PECOTA projection system from Baseball Prospectus says he'll be worth over $66MM over that time period." There's really no reason to trade A-rod that makes sense from a monetary perspective.
  20. I actually can't believe Robinson Cano managed to hit .342 this year. That absolutely boggles my mind.
