A great musician, innovater & showman. I saw Earth Wind & Fire a few times as a teenager in the 1970's. They put on a great show & the records still sound awesome. RIP.

Blue, blue....

I got a boot of a show from the current tour that has a really nice version of "It Ain't Easy" from Ziggy Stardust. Good choice & well done!

Roger O'Donnell on keyboards has been involved off & on for a long time & the drummer has been in the band 20 years now. The current line up is pretty strong. I liked Porl Thompson plenty but really like Reeves Gabrels. Saw him with Bowie several times. Should be a great show as the Twilight Sad are pretty interesting, too.

The show I'm seeing is being opened by the Twilight Sad. Is that a perfect name for a band opening for the Cure or what? I noticed the start times are all early though. The Vegas show starts at 7 & many of the other shows. So, long shows aren't out of the question. Reeves Gabrels has been in the band a few years. Really like that guy. Saw him with Bowie several times.

Any other Cure fans out there? I just bought a ticket from a broker for the show @ the Cosmopolitan in Vegas in May. I have been waiting at least 25 years to see the Cure & they are about the last band I really need to see & haven't. I've been cursed with various reasons for missing them before. I've actually had tickets. It wasn't looking good for this tour either. They are skipping Seattle & playing the Sasquatch festival. Really expensive & a really long drive. I'm not in a position health wise to do a multi day festival, especially one where the lineup isn't exactly stellar

Irving Azoff is a total mercenary. He took very good care of Henley & Frey & adequate care of the rest. Thank God they rescued Joe Walsh. Also read recently that they took care of all of Randy Meisner's medical expenses during his recent troubles. What I really disliked hugely was when they released the Eden record exclusively to Walmart. It was like f everybody else who had supported them over the years. I personally think Walmart is pretty evil from personal experience & perpetuates the lowest common denominator ethos that is taking over the US. I watched them destroy all other r

Really good 2013 BBC documentary on Showtime for free (at least now). "David Bowie - 5 years". Worth watching. The BBC does these well. I finally worked up the gumption to watch the video for "Lazarus". Stunning. I'd seen "Blackstar" but was too broke up to watch "Lazarus" until today. I haven't written here until now. Bowie was a cornerstone in my musical journey from about age 12 when I got Changesonebowie with my subscription to Creem. I never really strayed unlike some other stuff I liked. I got to briefly meet him in 1990. One of the high points in my career in the music biz. I'm still g

I like this idea plenty, too!

I saw Muse last tour & they were pretty good but not $200 worth of good. I paid $85 for the Neil show I saw this month for a pretty good seat. The floor tickets were $150 & would've been worth it but I can't stand for a whole show anymore because of some disabiltiy issues. It , was a small venue, maybe capacity of about 3,000. & with a 3 hour set, we definitly got bang for our buck. I mean Neil is turning 70 next month & he was way more lively than he has been in recent years. Keeping up fine with the 25 year olds in the band. He was actually talking & joking with the crowd

Check out the live dvd "Okonokos". Think the guitar player would impress you maybe. For me MMJ are way more a live thing than studio. I thought the songs from Neil's new album were much better live, too. I've got the Santa Barbara show & thought the tape was real good. The one from the LA Forum is excellent & Eugene, OR looks promising. Neil brings out the Hateful Fred fans & with them their excellent concert taping gear. I wish more bands would take a cue from the Roadcase concept. I bought the Redmond, WA show & was real pleased about how it sounded.

I saw Neil with POTR recently in Seattle. Have several show downloads from the west coast tour. This band is seriously mighty. Neil was busting out songs he hadn't played in 40 years ("Vampire Blues", "Time Fades Away" to name a few). It was as good as the Wilco show I saw 2 months earlier. I'm listening to the show I went to now. An unbelievable 27 minute "Down by the River". Setlists were changing nightly. Promise of the Real seem to have reenergized Neil & got him a little out of his comfort zone. The were doing 2.5 to 3 hour shows. The encore in Seattle was "Cinnamon Girl" followed by

I've got an idea for an excellent tour next summmer. It would be an all day/night affair with everyone doing nice, long sets. Working title "Excellent Songs With Guitar". Here's my proposed lineup.: 1. Neil Young with Promise Of The Real 2. Wilco 3. Drive-By Truckers 4. My Morning Jacket What do you think?

Thanks! I've got #47. Pretty cool. I've heard an audience tape of the Notorious Wilco Bros. show & that is pretty good too.

I just bought my first download from the band. The Marymoor Park show because I went to it & it was a really great show. Very Nels-centric (thanks Doug). The quality of the recording is outstanding. Anybody have any recommendations of other shows that the band is selling? @ $9 a pop sadly have to be a little picky but want to get some more. Thanks

This show is available to download in the Wilcoworld store. Sounds excellent! "Sunken Treasure" is amazing.

I caught the tuning thing. I just thought that it added something really cool & different to the song. Some new places. I could see Jeff & Pat watching him & they seemed amazed. I generally like live music more because for me the interesting stuff comes out of problems. I'm might get killed for this here but I've heard (particularly later versions) "Impossible" kind of remind me of "Hotel California" in some ways. Not necessarily a bad thing but Tuesday was way more interesting. I've been into Wilco a real long time & seen them a lot. Probably 1 of my 3 favorite band/performers

Nels Cline was unreal good. Maybe best "Impossible Germany" I've ever heard.

My friend bailed out on me & I have an extra reserved seat ticket. Hoping to get the $60 I paid for it (I'll eat the service charge). Would have to meet at the show, as the tickets will be at will call. Row 24, Section B on the aisle. Please contact me at crholmstrom7@gmail.com. Am looking forward to the show! ticket is sold. was able to help a fan in town on business looking for a single. its all good!
