  1. Springsteen has his version of "Purple Rain" up for free download on his website. IMHO, excellent. Nils....
  2. Stunning tribute from the Boss: http://www.inquisitr.com/3026228/purple-rain-bruce-springsteen-pays-tribute-to-prince-by-preforming-his-iconic-song-video/
  3. Another 1 of my idols, huge division. Him & Bowie this year are hitting hard. Both genius in their own way. This one hits hard, he was only 2 years older. Luckily, I got to see him several times. I was hoping to take my friend soon as she hasn't seen him. We'll just have to be satisfied with all of the fine Prince stuff out there. There will be plenty of "new" stuff from the vaults I'm sure. RIP Prince
  4. Setlist from 1st night of tour looks pretty good. Looking forward to Sunday night! 5. Good for the boss! Showing a little more grit than years ago when he crossed arena workers picket lines to do a show in Tacoma, WA. Doing the evolution, man. I guess Junior Johnson not going to make it to the Cadillac Ranch...
  6. RIP Merle. My favorite country artist along with Johnny Cash. I actually listen to Merle more. An American treasure. Am lucky I got to see him play a few times.
  7. It wouldn't surprise me in the least.
  8. AIC are still very good. They pop up on a lot of those festival shows on Palladia (or whatever its called now). William Duval sang with the MC5 reunion on a show & was excellent. There's a cd/dvd out with them & Primal Scream that is worth hunting down. Jerry Cantrell looks like an insurance salesman now. The man can still play & was really the songwriter in AIC. Hope they get to open the tour. Would be a nice payday for them. Duff & Jerry are buds who are hardcore 12th Man Seahawk fans. Attend games together.
  9. Downloaded this one recently. Sounds amazing!
  10. In Seattle Noveller came on promptly @ 8. Iggy started at 9 on the button. The venue has a strict 11:00 curfew. Noveller was sort of interesting but the world will not end if you miss her. Just get there by 9!
  11. Report from the front lines: The show was fantastic. Setlist same as above. The band was really good. GO!
  12. I scored tickets for Ray Lamontagne in Seattle yesterday. I was unaware that MMJ was going to be backing him up. Think this is going to a real good one.
  13. Prayers to all affected by terrorist attacks in Brussels.
  14. I love AC/DC but I was done when Malcom went down. It was his band & he was the heart of it. It's all a money grab now.
  15. I think Kasich is good @ wearing a mask of respectability, in this year of fanatics. Look at his record though on women's issues for instance. He's another sick f*ck. I'm not affiliated with any party. I always say I'm pro human being & we know which side comes closest on that. I'm no fan of Hilary either. If/when she gets in, it will be business as usual as she would sell her & the whole country's soul to become the first woman president. The only hope for change (& I'm not entirely sold) is Sanders. I don't think the powers in charge are ever going to allow that or if by some flu
  16. Setlist for tour warm up show in LA last night. The reviews are real good. It'll work for me! 17. I've seen Roger play acoustic on "Who Are You" several times. Probably most of any song.
  18. Mostly "celebrity" deaths don't phase me much. It happens. Bowie was such a huge part of my musical journey though that it had an effect. Not claiming to have known him but I did get to meet him once. One of the bigger thrills of 25+ years in the music biz. Glen Frey was more about what he died from. I've been dealing with the same issue for 8 years now & the disease is advancing. Winter is especially brutal. RA is an insidous disease with a lot of variations. Has to be taken into account with anything I want to do. Someone described it as having a thousand tiny rats chewing on all of your
  19. There are good quality boots of the tour rehearsals with SRV out there. Some of it works real well, some not so much. Worth checking out for sure.
  20. Daltry snuck the "who the fuck are you" in twice! & I'm on the west coast. Censor must've left early for the weekend.
  21. Know what you're talking about. Even though I'm more than 10 years younger, Glen Frey's passing hit too close to home. Way too close...
  22. I was lucky to see the first night of the last tour & they were outstanding. I saw the band plenty back in the day & they were hit/miss. Always interesting though. When they opened for Tom Petty, the first half of the set was beyond brilliant. A guy yelled out for "Black Diamond" & Paul said "give me $10 & we'll play it". So the guy did & it rocked totally. Then the drugs wore off. They just sort of stopped playing midsong & wandered off stage. I think they had too good a connection for something that wasn't good for them in Seattle. I loved how they ended the reunion t
  23. I've heard some tapes from the current tour. They are sounding pretty damn good! Pete still brings it.
