  1. It is a high holy day for me. The start of the Seattle Seahawks season. I'm going to the game & am getting psyched! I have a complicated set of constantly evolving pregame rituals that I have started. Included are clothing, blueberries, incense & "Jumping Jack Flash", to name a few. It has worked out pretty damn well so far. I feel really good about the Hawks chances to get another Super Bowl win this year. There is a really strong & good vibe around the team this year. With the exception of an early bye week the schedule this year is looking very favorable. I think the Hawks are g
  2. my cd from the preorder showed up yesterday (a day early). it sounds phenomenal. really like the record.
  3. Sad because I believe those seats would've mostly likely come from the wilcoworld presale originally. I sat similar first night in Seattle & that's how I got them. I suppose some would look to make a quick buck. I scored Temple of the Dog tix in Seattle off of a presale. I could selll them & make $1500 easy but I bought the tickets because I want to see the show.
  4. Apple has tech coming that will jam phones from recording shows. I'm there will be a fee involved for the bands as Apple isn't really know for their altruistic nature.
  5. Jeff made a comment at the 2nd Seattle show that we had spoiled the band for the rest of the tour being such a good audience. Hopefully bodes well for Roadcase releases of the 2 shows!
  6. quite a surprise with the stripped down approach going on. think that it was at that point where glenn got seriously engaged. him & jeff did a jam during spiders that was amazing! i'd like to hear them try art of almost with this setup. i read that they're hesitant to do wilco the album stuff because if they do a roadcase, they have to pay warners as the rights haven't reverted back yet. not sure when that ends. i would've loved to hear one wing at these shows but not complaining. we got quite the variety over the 2 shows.
  7. Hope you have had a good trip & come back sometime! The Paramount is a very nice venue, also. Bigger than the Moore but another really cool old theater. Good venue for sure! Safe travels back to Canada.
  8. I thought the show was close to as good as Friday but there definitely was a weird energy after the incident. People were freaked out as there was no info. Paris was on people's minds. I was on the opposite site & someone said sniper. There were enough differences in the setlist to make me feel good about going to both. I got 2 out of 3 wishes on the setlist (Radio Cure, Ashes). She's a Jar made up for loneliness nicely! The semi acoustic Bull Black Nova was interesting for sure. & Nothinsevergoing... was outstanding. Always good to hear Laminated Cat. I thought Impossible Germany was
  9. I've seen the photographer do that before. I'm not sure about the differences between the pot laws in different states. I'm told that in Denver, it is everywhere. Legally in Washington you can't smoke in public. I'm pretty sure in Seattle that's not really getting enforced too much. Outside the city could be a different story. I'll be sitting row A main floor right section on aisle 2. I'll be wearing a bright green hat. Stop by & say hi if you have a mind to. I've got a cane & will be flying solo tonight.
  10. some that i could seriously go for tonight: radio cure ashes of american flags how to fight loneliness just saying...
  11. I'm sorry you had a bad experience with the crowd. I was down in the front on the main floor & it was fine down there. I've seen the band countless times & this show would rank among the best. Last summer was mighty here with a very Nels-centric show but he was just as fantastic last night. Jeff was very engaged & funny. We sat right in front of him, leaning towards Nels. When he leaned out over the crowd during shot he he was 5-10 feet from us. One humourous note: it appeared (especially at the start of the show) that Pat & Glenn had perhaps visited a local "green" store. It d
  12. just woke up. still stunned. reservations into impossible germany was the shet. & i didn't think we would get spiders. all i can say is wow! my friend was amazed. she had never seen the band & said it might be the best show we've gone to. high praise as we've seen some awesome stuff. i'm going solo tonight. she wishes she were going but had a commitment with her daughter. the audience sang along with shot in the arm beautifully. worthy of chicago. i was close enough to tell that the band was impressed. can't wait to see what's in store tonight. i rarely do multi night stands but this o
  13. Can't wait for tonight!!!!! Looks like a really good tour to hit the lottery on the presale & score row A. I'm still reeling! Reservations is probably my favorite Wilco song ever & I've never seen them play it.& I've seen many shows. Think I'm certain to get it today and/or tomorrow. Going solo to the 2nd show & got lucky on that one, too. A week after the shows went on sale I went in & put in for 1 ADA ticket (sadly I qualify) just for giggles. Row A came up again! Tonight is with my friend though & she has never seen them. I turned her onto the band & she is a fan
  14. The Seattle shows are in a very small, old theater. A promising sign is the show is starting @ 7:30. Looks like they are aware of the 11:00 curfew at the venue.
  15. Nice! Getting ready for Friday & Saturday. I really don't know how I pulled this off but I've got front row both shows. Taking my friend on Friday (she's excited) & going solo Saturday. I got the Friday show on the presale & went in a week later to see what was available for show 2. I put in for 1 ADA ticket & row A came up. Needless to say, I jumped on that! Woo hoo!
  16. another good article from consequence of sound. can't wait for friday & saturday! http://consequenceofsound.net/2016/08/a-wilco-state-of-touring-on-going-acoustic-rotating-setlists-and-patient-fans/

  18. Are they possibly headed to "Jazz Odyssey" with the multiple bass parts?
  19. nice article http://www.salon.com/2016/08/23/the-tragically-hips-last-gift-most-fans-and-bands-never-get-the-chance-to-say-goodbye/
  20. It was a tremendous concert. Kudos to CBC for showing sans commercials or editting. The whole thing was tremendously classy & I hope it gave Gordie a little peace & happiness. There's a clip on youtube of Pearl Jam the same night in Chicago dedicating a song to the Hip. Eddie gives a nice little speech about them. Pity they didn't get a lot of attention from the US music press. They had a lot of fine music. Them & 54/40 were 2 great Canadian bands that should've been bigger. I'm lucky living in Seattle, we get a fair amount of Canadian music.
  21. I luv the Hip. Living in Seattle, saw them a lot in the early days. CBC is showing their final concert from their hometown, Kingston, Ontario on Saturday, 8/20 @ 5:30 PDT. No commercials & they are preempting the Olympics. Luckily we get CBC here.
  22. Ya, the Jam (& Paul Weller stuff) have had plenty of good b-sides. REM had plenty, also. & let's not forget Wilco!!!!
  23. The old PNE arena in Vancouver, BC. I remember being shocked that we couldn't score beer at 7-11 on the way to the show. At that time there was no point to 7-11 without beer! Younger, wilder days...
