  1. I got the Seattle bundle & both shows are amazing. Night 1 is quite possilbly the best sounding live recording I've ever heard.
  2. excellent charity for disaster relief. i've done some research & this one has a very good rating & 97% of what comes in, goes out. really good percentage compared to others. https://www.americares.org/
  3. I just picked up the Seattle bundle, having gone to both shows. Haven't listened yet. Both were great shows. I had more fun the first night as I was with my friend. I went solo the 2nd night. The incident was weird & definitely kind of put vibe on the show. I was on the other side of the theater & we didn't know was going on. In this post Bataclan world people around me were very nervous as there was no information for a long time. Glad they put these out.
  4. As much as I like the new Wilco, I have to say "American Band" is album of the year. Instant classic.
  5. the seattle show is up on archive.org. free & legal! https://archive.org/details/dbt2016-09-29.dpa4061flac24
  6. They change the setlist every night at least some. I know Shit Shots has been played recently for sure.
  7. racism & the gun madness engulfing this country! go ahead & talk about the 2nd amendment. maybe we can go back to crapping in outhouses & chamber pots whilst waiting for the redcoats to come. i'll shut up now. pretty passionate about the subjects on the record.
  8. I'm with you. I'm roughly the same vintage as him & we think a lot of stuff in similar way. It's becoming lost in our brainwashed/braindead society. Proud to be a long time DBT fan. I'm listening to the new record again right now. It's an amazing work.
  9. i am recovering now. didnt get home until 2AM & i got walking pneumonia. luckily i had the foresight to take today off. they were unbelievably good! this was my 1st electric show & they exceeded high expectations. 1st, lydia loveless was a perfect opener. excellent 45 minute set. great band & she has a great voice. sort of reminds me of miley cyrus in a way (i like miley, don't hate on me!). dbt came on about 9:45 & played until 12:30. 31 songs with no break, they did away with the encore ritual. set list below. the band seemed really into it & enjoying themselves. really n
  10. the remaster of temple of the dog that came out today is totally amazing!
  11. I've been playing the new DBT a lot. It keeps getting better & better. Hopefully they will have cds at the rock show tonight as I've been playing a low bit rate download. If not, I'll go buy it tomorrow. The band is really tight & the lyrics are incredible. I'm hoping this record will get them a much deserved bigger audience.
  12. stopped at new Beast Mode store before the game yesterday & got to meet the Beast his bad self. we didn't know he was going to be there.
  13. Can't wait for the show on Thursday! They're doing a few interesting covers: The Bitch is Back & sneaking Sign O the Times into Hell No I Ain't Happy.
  14. As DBT said, it's the dichotomy of the southern thing. I'm thinking about taking a knee during the banner @ the Seahawks game tomorrow. We're playing SF. The Seahawks are doing the interlocking arms things though.
  15. 1 week til the big rock show: Drive-by Truckers in a small club. Only $25 too. I'm excited! Girlfriend still an all time favorite. Such a great record. I really enjoyed the covers records with Susanna Hoffs for the most part, too. Such a talent & a nice guy to boot. Have hung out with Matthew a few times.
  16. i was into them early. i'm sort of glad they decided to move on. obviously very different people involved personality wise. they left on a pretty high note. that's not to say i wouldn't enjoy some sort of reunion but i don't think its going to happen.
  17. I've heard the new record & its real good. There's also a tape out there of from the Belly Up in Aspen in August thats awesome. Lots of the new record & covers of "The Bitch is Back" & "Sign O the Times". "Sign O the Times" has a very different & cool arrangement.
  18. they did have the good sense to leave though. i have a little bit of respect for lesh as he objected to the avarice concerning garcia's guitar bequest. also, he is at least following his muse & moved on. how can we miss them if they won't go away?
  19. quite possibly my least favorite song in the world. at 1 point i hired a former friend to work in my warehouse & i had to listen to the fred every single day for 2 years. sugaree at this point brings on a psychotic reaction, so its best just to not go there. i have plenty of music that i like that i can listen to. no offense, its 1 of my little quirks. i did make an attempt a few decades ago to listen. it never really took & after the audio battery it went to another place.
  20. i saw tedeschi trucks this week in seattle. it was a phenomenal show. i had seen them separately but not together. derek was stellar on guitar but to me susan outshined him. what a voice! & no slouch on guitar either. 1 minor quibble: my friend & i both thought that maybe they should highlight songs a little more & do a little less jamming. the jamming was good but was in danger of going into icky hateful fred territory at times. its a 12 piece band & everyone had longish solos. it wasn't bad but i just fell in luv with susan's singing. the show here was in a real nice venue, w
  21. Same old Mariners. Come home on 8 game win streak, have a big crowd & lose badly. It's probably going to be a long weekend for them. Thank God its football season!
  22. I got to wear Earl Thomas' Super Bowl 48 ring yesterday! I met his dad at the game. Very cool!
  23. ahhhh, Cutler. heh heh heh
